Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Blotchy Bass Syndrome (BBS) Citizen Science Surveillance Data, North America, 2022–2024 Blotchy Bass Syndrome (BBS) Citizen Science Surveillance Data, North America, 2022–2024
This data release contains quality-controlled records of angler-submitted observations of black bass (Micropterus spp.) collected through a two-year citizen science initiative using the MyCatch mobile application. The dataset includes verified catch records for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, with each entry providing information on catch date, time, location (latitude/longitude)...
Georectified mosaic of historical aerial photographs of the Colorado River within the Lake Mead region, Arizona and Nevada, acquired in 1935 Georectified mosaic of historical aerial photographs of the Colorado River within the Lake Mead region, Arizona and Nevada, acquired in 1935
This product is a georectified and tonally balanced image mosaic of aerial photographs collected in February 1935 by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service along the floodplain of the Colorado River in the Lake Mead region of Arizona and Nevada. This dataset was developed to portray the geologic characteristics of the lower Colorado River floodplain and can serve as a resource to help create...
Loggerhead sea turtle single nucleotide polymorphism data for Dry Tortugas National Park, 2008 - 2016 Loggerhead sea turtle single nucleotide polymorphism data for Dry Tortugas National Park, 2008 - 2016
This release contains single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data derived from tissue and blood samples collected from 25 loggerhead individuals across nine years from the Dry Tortugas. Data are provided in FASTQ format, a text-based data structure supported by bioinformatics tools.
Aquatic macroinvertebrate assemblage data from side channels of the Upper Mississippi River System, 2021 Aquatic macroinvertebrate assemblage data from side channels of the Upper Mississippi River System, 2021
To understand how aquatic macroinvertebrate assemblages vary among side channels across a large floodplain river ecosystem, we collected macroinvertebrates from 23 side channels distributed across six reaches of the Upper Mississippi River and Illinois River and quantified taxonomic and functional indices. Within this data release, three products are included: 1) site-level environmental...
Organochlorine contaminant concentrations in double-crested cormorant eggs or nestlings in the Green Bay, WI region from 1994 and 1995 Organochlorine contaminant concentrations in double-crested cormorant eggs or nestlings in the Green Bay, WI region from 1994 and 1995
Double-crested cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) fresh eggs and sibling embryos at pipping were collected from a polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)- contaminated colony in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Egg contents were analyzed for organochlorine (OC) contaminants, including 15 aryl hydrocarbon-active PCB congeners. Concentrations of 20 organochlorine contaminants present in double-crested...
Post-2018-collapse microgravity data from campaign measurements at Kīlauea, Hawaiʻi Post-2018-collapse microgravity data from campaign measurements at Kīlauea, Hawaiʻi
Campaign microgravity data have been collected at Kīlauea, Hawaiʻi, since 1975 to assess changes in mass associated with magmatic activity. The network of stations was disrupted by the 2018 summit collapse and was subsequently reestablished, with surviving and some new sites occupied regularly to track magmatic activity beneath the volcano. This data release includes microgravity data...
