Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Update of the Database for Volcanic Processes and Geology of Augustine Volcano, Alaska to National Geologic Map Schema Update of the Database for Volcanic Processes and Geology of Augustine Volcano, Alaska to National Geologic Map Schema

The geologic map database in this data release is a reproduction of the U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1762: Volcanic Processes and Geology of Augustine Volcano, Alaska, Waitt and Begét (2009). The database consists of a geologic map and one structural cross section that conform to the National Geologic Map Schema (GeMS). These data supersede USGS Data Series 677: Database for...

Ground-surface elevation, vegetation, and land type within approximately 10 and 400 meters of 176 water-level gaging stations in the Greater Everglades, Florida 2005-10 Ground-surface elevation, vegetation, and land type within approximately 10 and 400 meters of 176 water-level gaging stations in the Greater Everglades, Florida 2005-10

The Everglades Depth Estimation Network (EDEN) is an integrated network of water-level gages, interpolation models, web applications, and decision support tools that generates daily water-level data and derived hydrologic data across the freshwater part of south Florida's Greater Everglades. EDEN provides continuous daily water-level and depth surfaces on a 400-meter grid using an...

Clothianidin concentrations in milkweed leaves that leads to prepupal mortality in monarch butterflies Clothianidin concentrations in milkweed leaves that leads to prepupal mortality in monarch butterflies

A set of experiments was conducted to determine the dietary clothianidin exposures that cause prepupal mortality in the absence of other adverse effects. Monarch larvae were raised from hatch to pupae on clothianidin contaminated swamp milkweed plants. Larval growth, larval survival, and prepupal survival were monitored throughout the experiments in which the exposures ranged from 1.4 –...

Amplicon sequencing of pollen foraged by Bombus affinis for compositional analysis Amplicon sequencing of pollen foraged by Bombus affinis for compositional analysis

This study generated genetic 'barcode' data using high-throughput sequencing to characterize pollen collected by the endangered rusty-patched bumblebee, Bombus affinis. Pollen samples were associated with a single Bombus affinis colony within a structure in Red Wing, Minnesota, USA, as previously described by Boone et al. (2022). This data release consists of two tab-delimited files: 1)...

Digital data for the geologic map of Scoggins Dam, Henry Hagg Lake, and Scoggins Valley, Washington County, Oregon Digital data for the geologic map of Scoggins Dam, Henry Hagg Lake, and Scoggins Valley, Washington County, Oregon

Scoggins Dam in northwest Oregon lies within the Gales Creek fault zone (GCF), a northwest-striking system of active faults forming the boundary between the Coast Range and the Tualatin Valley about 25 km east of Portland, Oregon. Geologic mapping published in 2020 shows the dam to lie within a block-faulted releasing stepover between the right-lateral, NW-striking Scoggins Creek and...
