Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Supplemental groundwater level, spring flow, and streamflow data for the Water Resources Inventory of the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area, Southeastern Arizona Supplemental groundwater level, spring flow, and streamflow data for the Water Resources Inventory of the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area, Southeastern Arizona
This data release contains hydrologic datasets used in U.S. Geological Survey Scientific-Investigations Report 2023-XXXX that are not available from other sources such as the National Water Information System (NWIS). The hydrologic datasets include groundwater levels, spring and stream discharge measurements, and lengths of perennial streamflow reaches, collected within the Las Cienegas...
Data Release for the 2023 U.S. 50-State National Seismic Hazard Model - Overview Data Release for the 2023 U.S. 50-State National Seismic Hazard Model - Overview
This data release contains data sets associated with the 2023 50-State National Seismic Hazard Model Update. The 2023 50-State National Seimsic Hazard Model (NSHM) Update includes an update to the NSHMs for the conterminous U.S (CONUS, last updated in 2018), Alaska (AK, last updated in 2007), and Hawaii (last updated in 2001). Data sets include inputs like seismicity catalogs used as...
Data for a Pilot Study Characterizing Future Climate and Hydrology in Massachusetts Data for a Pilot Study Characterizing Future Climate and Hydrology in Massachusetts
The U.S. Geological Survey has developed tools for projecting twenty-first century climate and hydrologic risk in Massachusetts in collaboration with Cornell University and Tufts University. These tools included a Stochastic Weather Generator (SWG). Output from the SWG is in this data release. The release includes daily precipitation and minimum and maximum air temperature for a 64-year...
Data from the Inventory of Montane-nesting Birds in the Arctic Network of National Parks, Alaska Data from the Inventory of Montane-nesting Birds in the Arctic Network of National Parks, Alaska
This package contains information collected during avian and habitat survey data at five national parks/monuments: Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, Kobuk Valley National Park, Noatak National Preserve, and Bering Land Bridge National Preserve. The objectives of the surveys were to document the occurrence of 90 percent of the bird species...
High-Resolution Land Cover Maps of Lāna‘i, Hawai‘i, 2020 High-Resolution Land Cover Maps of Lāna‘i, Hawai‘i, 2020
This dataset provides high-resolution, species-specific land cover maps for the Hawaiian island of Lāna'i based on 2020 WorldView-2 satellite imagery. Machine learning models were trained on extensive ground control polygons and points. The land cover maps capture the distribution and diversity of vegetation with high accuracy to support conservation planning and monitoring. This data...
Training and validation data from the AI for Critical Mineral Assessment Competition (ver. 2.0, July 2025) Training and validation data from the AI for Critical Mineral Assessment Competition (ver. 2.0, July 2025)
Extracting useful and accurate information from scanned geologic and other earth science maps is a time-consuming and laborious process involving manual human effort. To address this limitation, the USGS partnered with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to run the AI for Critical Mineral Assessment Competition, soliciting innovative solutions for automatically...
