The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Upper Colorado River Basin Accumulated Wastewater Ratios Upper Colorado River Basin Accumulated Wastewater Ratios

A wastewater reuse model was applied to the Upper Colorado River basin to assess the percent of accumulated wastewater (ACCWW%) from municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in each initialized (that is, has an assigned hydrosequence number for flow-routing) National Hydrography Dataset Version 2.1 (NHDPlus V2.1) stream segment. Model inputs included (1) NHDPlus V2.1...

Larval lake whitefish diets in western Lake Erie during 2018, 2019, and 2021 Larval lake whitefish diets in western Lake Erie during 2018, 2019, and 2021

Recent declines in Lake Whitefish population abundance has prompted research to identify underlying mechanisms controlling survival of early life stages in the Great Lakes. In Lake Erie, the recruitment bottleneck window determining year class strength of Lake Whitefish occurs during the first growing season, suggesting that availability of prey could be controlling year class strength...

Literature Review of Lithophilic-Spawning Fishes Egg Collection Methods Literature Review of Lithophilic-Spawning Fishes Egg Collection Methods

Assessment of egg deposition is widely used to provide an index of spawning efforts for lithophilic-spawning fishes. However, little is known about the collection techniques efficacy and bias when collecting fish eggs. We conducted a literature review to assess egg collection methods and evaluate egg retention and capture on egg mats. The literature review provided a summary of different...

Surface water presence field observation points for Mt. Rainier and surrounding area, WA, July 2018 - September 2020 Surface water presence field observation points for Mt. Rainier and surrounding area, WA, July 2018 - September 2020

This dataset includes spatial locations where surface water presence observations were collected during the late summer baseflow period in Mt. Rainier National Park and surrounding area in Washington State, July 2018 - September 2020. Stream flow status (continuous flow, discontinuous flow, and dry) were recorded using the FLOwPER (FLOw PERmanence) field survey available in the Survey...

Surficial geologic map database of the Durango 1-degree by 2-degree quadrangle, southern Colorado: Contributions to the National Geologic Map Surficial geologic map database of the Durango 1-degree by 2-degree quadrangle, southern Colorado: Contributions to the National Geologic Map

This data release presents geologic map data for the surficial geology of the Durango 1-degree by 2-degree quadrangle and adjacent areas along the northern boundary of the quadrangle. The map area lies within two physiographic provinces of Fenneman (1928): the Southern Rocky Mountains province, and the Colorado Plateau province, Navajo section. Geologic mapping is mostly compiled from...
