Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Data for the Estimation of Flood Discharges at Selected Annual Exceedance Probabilities for Unregulated, Rural Streams in Vermont, 2023 Data for the Estimation of Flood Discharges at Selected Annual Exceedance Probabilities for Unregulated, Rural Streams in Vermont, 2023

These data include annual instantaneous maximum discharge record for 156 streams and rivers in Vermont and adjacent areas of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York through the 2023 water year. The data also include flood-frequency estimates for the 50-, 20-, 10-, 4-, 2-, 1-, 0.5-, and 0.2-percent annual exceedance probabilities that were analyzed using the discharge data. These flood...

Oviposition and pipping observations for three wild adult female Burmese pythons (Python molurus bivittatus) in southern Florida Oviposition and pipping observations for three wild adult female Burmese pythons (Python molurus bivittatus) in southern Florida

Data in this release include oviposition, pipping, body size, and environmental temperature observations for three wild adult female Burmese pythons (Python molurus bivittatus). Data are from two individuals that were free-ranging (Pythons # 1 and 2) in Big Cypress National Preserve, Collier County, Florida, USA and one wild-caught individual (Python #3) placed in an outdoor enclosure on...

Macroinvertebrate and redband trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss newberrii) diet data for watercourses in the Goose Lake Basin, Oregon, U.S.A., 2024 Macroinvertebrate and redband trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss newberrii) diet data for watercourses in the Goose Lake Basin, Oregon, U.S.A., 2024

We collected aquatic macroinvertebrate and redband trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss newberrii) diet data in the Oregon portion of the Goose Lake Basin. Data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Oregon State University (OSU) to monitor prey communities in the Basin, and to relate observed prey abundances to specific habitat features. Sampling was conducted based on previous...

Geochemical data for ultramafic rocks and sulfide minerals from the disrupted lower stratigraphy of the Stillwater Complex, USA Geochemical data for ultramafic rocks and sulfide minerals from the disrupted lower stratigraphy of the Stillwater Complex, USA

The layered mafic and ultramafic Stillwater Complex in southwest Montana is known for its platinum-group element (PGE) production from reef-style mineralization (J-M Reef) in the Lower Banded series. Rocks near the base of the complex—the Basal series and Ultramafic series, Peridotite zone—also host elevated concentrations of Ni, Cu, Co, Cr, and PGE. These rocks of the complex’s lower...

CoSMoS-AK Modeled flood and erosion hazards at Elim - Coastal Alaska CoSMoS-AK Modeled flood and erosion hazards at Elim - Coastal Alaska

This data release consists of flood hazard maps from compound coastal hazards--specifically sea-level rise (SLR) and projected coastal storms. Products include projected flood depths, flood extents including uncertainties, water elevations, wave heights, velocity hazards, and erosion and sedimentation patterns. These are generated using a suite of numerical models driven by outputs from...

MODPATH model to simulate backward particle tracking in groundwater near Puget Sound, Pierce County, Washington MODPATH model to simulate backward particle tracking in groundwater near Puget Sound, Pierce County, Washington

Backward particle tracking in groundwater was simulated with MODPATH and the MODFLOW groundwater flow model by Long and others (2024). Simulated particles were tracked backward from well intakes in areas within or near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) for the purpose of determining their likely points of origin within groundwater recharge areas. Steady-state and transient simulations were...
