Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Guam, brown treesnake and non-target species takes of baits based on the presence of ants, 2020-2024 Guam, brown treesnake and non-target species takes of baits based on the presence of ants, 2020-2024
Toxic baiting is a primary method used to suppress many invasive species, including the brown treesnake (Boiga irregularis) in Guam. Based on limited alternative approaches to assess tool efficacy in snake removal, bait take is often used as a proxy for snake removal, despite evidence that non-targets remove baits in a spatially heterogeneous manner. Using photographic validation, we...
Magnetotelluric sounding data, Rio Grande rift, New Mexico, 1997-2004 Magnetotelluric sounding data, Rio Grande rift, New Mexico, 1997-2004
This data set includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected from 1997 to 2004 in and near the Rio Grande rift, New Mexico. The U.S. Geological Survey conducted a series of multidisciplinary studies, including audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) surveys, in the Rio Grande rift to improve understanding of the hydrogeology of the Santa Fe Group and the nature of the sedimentary deposits...
Charcoal and soil, water, and reservoir sediment-core chemistry in the North Fork Salmon Creek basin and Conconully Reservoir, Washington, 2022-2023 Charcoal and soil, water, and reservoir sediment-core chemistry in the North Fork Salmon Creek basin and Conconully Reservoir, Washington, 2022-2023
Charcoal counts and soil, water, and reservoir sediment-core geochemistry were characterized eight months after the November 2021 Muckamuck Fire in the North Fork Salmon Creek basin and Conconully Reservoir, Washington, the receiving water body. Parameters include sand-sized charcoal, Cesium-137, excess Lead-210, aqueous and solid-phase elemental chemistry, and polycyclic aromatic...
Wireline geophysical logs, bulk geochemistry, and mineralogical data for the Devonian Marcellus Shale interval in the Enerplus Snow Shoe 4-8HG wellbore and core, Centre County, Pennsylvania Wireline geophysical logs, bulk geochemistry, and mineralogical data for the Devonian Marcellus Shale interval in the Enerplus Snow Shoe 4-8HG wellbore and core, Centre County, Pennsylvania
Geochemical and mineralogical data were collected for samples of the Devonian Marcellus Shale, as well as overlying and underlying units in the Enerplus Snow Shoe 4-8HG core. The data was integrated with well logs in a manuscript that focuses on the estimation of original organic richness (total organic carbon content) in thermally mature petroleum source rocks. This data release...
Submerged Grain Size Maps in the Santiam River Basin, Oregon Submerged Grain Size Maps in the Santiam River Basin, Oregon
The size and distribution of riverbed grain size plays a foundational role in river morphology and ecology. This study (White and others, 2025) quantifies submerged riverbed grain size at high resolution (1 square meter) across 260 kilometers of geomorphically diverse river corridors in the Santiam River Basin, Oregon, by pairing bathymetric lidar point-clouds collected in 2023 with...
Gravity and physical property data of the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes region, Mojave Desert, California Gravity and physical property data of the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes region, Mojave Desert, California
This data release presents point data associated with studies to understand the crustal structure of the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes epicentral region and the interaction of the northeast-to-east-striking Garlock fault with the northwest-striking faults of the Eastern California Shear Zone and Walker Lane. Data include principal fact information for new gravity measurements collected by...
