Upper Missouri River Velocity Data in Support of Fort Peck Test Flow larval release, June 2024 Upper Missouri River Velocity Data in Support of Fort Peck Test Flow larval release, June 2024
Flows at Fort Peck Dam, Montana, were modified in 2024 to include additions of warm epilimnetic reservoir releases over the spillway of the dam as part of a series of flow tests to improve habitat conditions in the Upper Missouri River for pallid sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus albus). We measured velocity and discharge on June 22 and June 23 in the Upper Missouri River and Fort Peck Dam...
Radiocarbon ages from sites in El Salvador generated during joint volcano hazards projects carried out by the U.S. Geological Survey Volcano Disaster Assistance Program and El Salvador Ministerio de Ambiente y Recursos Naturales Radiocarbon ages from sites in El Salvador generated during joint volcano hazards projects carried out by the U.S. Geological Survey Volcano Disaster Assistance Program and El Salvador Ministerio de Ambiente y Recursos Naturales
We present the results of 14C age analysis of samples collected during multiple projects that are part of an on-going, joint initiative of the U.S. Geological Survey Volcano Disaster Assistance Program and the El Salvador Ministerio de Ambiente y Recursos Naturales. These projects are part of a wider effort to better understand El Salvador’s many volcanoes and provide baseline data which...
2023 Baseline Intertidal Biodiversity in Mixed Coarse Substrate Habitats Across the Boston Harbor Islands 2023 Baseline Intertidal Biodiversity in Mixed Coarse Substrate Habitats Across the Boston Harbor Islands
This data set contains information on the occurrence and abundance of intertidal marine invertebrates and macro algae collected across five islands with 10 sites in the Boston Harbor in 2023. This data was collected using an intertidal biodiversity monitoring protocol developed specifically for the mixed coarse substrate habitat found on the inner islands of Boston Harbor, including...
Estimates of water-quality concentrations from two watersheds affected by the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire in Larimer County, Colorado Estimates of water-quality concentrations from two watersheds affected by the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire in Larimer County, Colorado
This data repository documents the input files, output files, and RStudio scripts used to quantify changes in water-quality concentrations after the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire in the North Fork Big Thompson River and Buckhorn Creek watersheds using the Weighted Regressions on Time, Discharge, and Season (WRTDS) method. A WRTDS model was developed using 12 years of pre-fire data (2008-August...
Diet, morphometric and demographic data for cisco (Coregonus artedi) collected in the winter and spring of 2022-2023 in Lake Michigan and connected waters Diet, morphometric and demographic data for cisco (Coregonus artedi) collected in the winter and spring of 2022-2023 in Lake Michigan and connected waters
These data describe demographic, diet contents and associated weights, fullness index, morphometrics (body shape), and meristic (total number of gill rakers) measurements of cisco (Coregonus artedi) collected in Lake Michigan along the eastern shoreline, the Pine River/ Lake Charlevoix Channel, and from three drowned river mouth lakes (Portage Lake, Muskegon Lake, Lake Charlevoix) from...
Morphological and genetic data for Phragmites australis along the Colorado River and in tributaries from southern Utah to west-central Arizona Morphological and genetic data for Phragmites australis along the Colorado River and in tributaries from southern Utah to west-central Arizona
These data were compiled to provide land-management relevant information on the native and nonnative subspecies (subsp.) of Phragmites australis (subsp. americanus and subsp. australis, respectively) in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (NRA), Grand Canyon National Park (NP), Arches National Park, and Bill Williams National Wildlife Refuge. Specifically, the goals of this work were to...
