Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Prairie dog trapping locations treated with plague or vaccine baits in western states Prairie dog trapping locations treated with plague or vaccine baits in western states

The data were collected to determine the density and abundance of prairie dogs in relation to treatment with vaccine or placebo baits and the occurrence of plague.

Gravity data in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan for geophysical profile modeling of the Midcontinent Rift System and associated structures Gravity data in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan for geophysical profile modeling of the Midcontinent Rift System and associated structures

Gravity data were collected from 2022 through 2024 to provide more detailed data for geophysical profile modeling of the Midcontinent Rift System and associated structures. This data release provides the complete Bouguer anomaly gravity data for 256 new gravity stations to supplement existing data and replace erroneous existing data.

Data acquired in laboratory experiments conducted with a model freshwater invertebrate to characterize dietary bioavailability of uranium Data acquired in laboratory experiments conducted with a model freshwater invertebrate to characterize dietary bioavailability of uranium

Determining the environmental health effects of uranium (U) to aquatic species requires understanding its exposure pathways, which include both the aqueous and dietary uptake routes. But little is known about the drivers of U bioavailability from solid phases. In this study, we characterized U bioavailability from 8 solids using a freshwater invertebrate as a model species. Solids...

Structure-from-Motion derived point clouds and orthomosaic images of a reference section of the Irish Valley Member of the Catskill Formation, Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania Structure-from-Motion derived point clouds and orthomosaic images of a reference section of the Irish Valley Member of the Catskill Formation, Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania

This dataset consists of Structure-from-Motion (SfM) - derived point clouds and detailed orthomosaic images of three exposures covering the Irish Valley Member of the Catskill Formation, near Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. For each roadcut exposure, two datasets are published: an orthomosaic raster image and a point cloud. The orthomosaic raster image is a vertical outcrop orthomosaic...

Structure-from-Motion derived point clouds and orthomosaic images of reference sections of the upper part of the Lock Haven Formation near Tioga, Pennsylvania Structure-from-Motion derived point clouds and orthomosaic images of reference sections of the upper part of the Lock Haven Formation near Tioga, Pennsylvania

This dataset consists of Structure-from-Motion derived point clouds and detailed orthomosaic images of two exposures covering the upper part of the Lock Haven Formation near Tioga, Pennsylvania. For each roadcut exposure, two datasets are published: an orthomosaic raster image and a point cloud. The orthomosaic raster image is a vertical outcrop orthomosaic constructed from multiple...

Data from mesocosm experiments to assess metal and nutrient stimulation of Lake Erie and Lake Michigan phytoplankton communities, August 2017 Data from mesocosm experiments to assess metal and nutrient stimulation of Lake Erie and Lake Michigan phytoplankton communities, August 2017

To address how phytoplankton in the Great Lakes respond to macro- and micronutrients, we conducted a bottle incubation enrichment experiment using water collected from blooming (Maumee Bay and Fox River) and non-blooming sites (Detroit River and Ford River) in Lakes Erie and Michigan, respectively, during late summer. Surface water from these locations was collected and taken to Kent...
