Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Community-sourced lower Zanclean [early Pliocene] sea surface temperature (SST) data for PRISM5.1 and PRISM5.2 time slices Community-sourced lower Zanclean [early Pliocene] sea surface temperature (SST) data for PRISM5.1 and PRISM5.2 time slices

This data set collects, from peer-reviewed and openly available research, values of sea surface temperature (SST) that occurred at select sites across the Earth during a brief period of the lower- Zanclean. SST data reported here represent, for each site, an average of SSTs, derived from alkenone analysis. The data collected are centered on two time slices. The PRISM5.1 time slice at 4...

Hydraulic properties derived from aquifer testing at FORGE WELL 58B-32, Beaver County, Utah in February 2024 Hydraulic properties derived from aquifer testing at FORGE WELL 58B-32, Beaver County, Utah in February 2024

The USGS collected water level time series data sets using a submersible pressure transducer at FORGE WELL 58B-32 during an aquifer test from February 12 to February 16, 2024. Transmissivity of the pumped aquifer was estimated to be 37,520-55,080 square feet per day using a Theis solution for unconfined aquifers provided by AQTESOLV software. The hydraulic conductivity of the aquifer was...

Repeat microgravity data from Phoenix, Arizona, 2020-2023 Repeat microgravity data from Phoenix, Arizona, 2020-2023

This dataset represents the network-adjusted results of relative- and absolute-gravity surveys performed from 2020 to 2023 in and near the city of Phoenix, Arizona. Relative surveys were done using a Zero Length Spring, Inc. Burris relative-gravity meter. Absolute-gravity surveys were done using a Micro-g LaCoste, Inc. A-10 absolute-gravity meter. The effect of solid Earth tides and...

Public-Supply Water Service Areas Within the Conterminous United States, 2017 Public-Supply Water Service Areas Within the Conterminous United States, 2017

This data release describes water service areas (WSA) for community water systems (CWS) within the conterminous United States, representing areas of active service between 2010 and 2020. A WSA is defined by a delineated polygon that contains all customers served by a water system. WSAs are represented by an ArcGIS shapefile. The U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act defines a CWS as a type of...

Island of Hawaiʻi Ceratocystis viability and beetle activity in felled ʻōhiʻa lehua trees 2020-2021 Island of Hawaiʻi Ceratocystis viability and beetle activity in felled ʻōhiʻa lehua trees 2020-2021

This data release includes data and metadata documenting Ceratocystis viability, moisture content, and beetle activity in felled and tarped ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) trees previously having been determined to be infected with either Ceratocystis lukuohia or Ceratocystis huliohia, the fungi that cause rapid ʻōhiʻa death (ROD).
