Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Topographic, multispectral, and GPS data collected during uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) operations at Marsh Island, New Bedford, Massachusetts Topographic, multispectral, and GPS data collected during uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) operations at Marsh Island, New Bedford, Massachusetts

Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS) were used to collect aerial remote sensing data over Marsh Island, a salt marsh restoration site along New Bedford Harbor, Massachusetts. Remediation of the site will involve direct hydrological and geochemical monitoring of the system alongside the UAS remote sensing data. Baseline conditions were evaluated in October 2023, and future data...

Geospatial characterization of Atlantic-facing New Jersey salt marshes Geospatial characterization of Atlantic-facing New Jersey salt marshes

This data release contains coastal wetland synthesis products for the Atlantic-facing New Jersey salt marshes. Metrics for resiliency, including the unvegetated to vegetated ratio (UVVR), marsh elevation, and tidal range, are calculated for smaller units delineated from a digital elevation model, providing the spatial variability of physical factors that influence wetland health. The U.S

Deep learning classification of landforms from lidar-derived elevation models in the glaciated portion of the northern Delaware River Basin of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania Deep learning classification of landforms from lidar-derived elevation models in the glaciated portion of the northern Delaware River Basin of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania

The Delaware River Basin (DRB) covers portions of five states (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania) and several geologic provinces, encompassing much of the complex geology of the Mid-Atlantic region. This data release focuses on the recently glaciated northern DRB, which includes portions of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Groundwater storage is...

Mercury, carbon and nitrogen isotope ratios in seven Great Lake fish species from 1975 to 2021 Mercury, carbon and nitrogen isotope ratios in seven Great Lake fish species from 1975 to 2021

Atmospheric mercury (Hg) deposition, which has been declining in North America since 1985, is the preeminent delivery pathway to the Great Lakes, making them sentinels for tracking shifts in atmospheric deposition. Lake productivity is changing as a result of reductions in phosphorus inputs and habitat shifts in productivity due to invasive mussels. This has altered Hg cycling and...

Continuous Temperature and Specific Conductance from the Yukon River and Arctic Rivers in Alaska Continuous Temperature and Specific Conductance from the Yukon River and Arctic Rivers in Alaska

This data release includes continuous measurements of stream temperature and specific conductance from 24 sites on the Yukon River and other arctic rivers in Alaska. Measurements were collected at selected U.S. Geological Survey stream gages and in communities along major rivers.

Cisco Egg Hatching Data for UV-lamp Phototron Experiments Cisco Egg Hatching Data for UV-lamp Phototron Experiments

These data contain the survivorship, hatching dates, and two metrics of sublethal effects of ultraviolet radiation (UV-B; 320 nm) exposure on Cisco (Coregonus artedi) embryos. These data were derived from UV-lamp phototron experiments conducted in the laboratory using fertilized Cisco eggs from wild caught fish from Lake Koronis, MN from 2021 - 2022. Cisco are an important species of...
