Vegetation Dynamics Drought Viewer Vegetation Dynamics Drought Viewer

The Vegetation Dynamics/Drought viewer provides a dynamic online map interface that can be used to view USGS and other data.

Field Photo Map Field Photo Map

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Land Cover Trends field photography collection is 33,000 ground-referenced photos at a national-scale. The photos initially served as a research tool to aid in Landsat-derived land-use/land-cover (LULC) change analyses and assessments between 1999 and 2009.

Current Streamflow and Water-Quality Monitoring at Select Sites in the Animas and San Juan River Basins, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah Current Streamflow and Water-Quality Monitoring at Select Sites in the Animas and San Juan River Basins, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah

The USGS monitors current streamflow and water-quality conditions at various sites in the Animas and San Juan River Basins in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah, including areas below the Gold King Mine release area. These streamgages provide continuous data on streamflow and select water-quality constituents including specific conductance, water temperature, pH, and turbidity.

Presence of Microbes and the Distribution of Climatic, Environmental, and Geochemical Variables Web Mapping Application Presence of Microbes and the Distribution of Climatic, Environmental, and Geochemical Variables Web Mapping Application

This web mapping application allows users to make comparisons between national scale environmental datasets and Bacillus species and Bacillus anthracis detection results. The datasets include soil physical, chemical, and mineralogical data, current and historical climate data, landcover, and biological surveys.

While some instrument teams provide science-ready versions of their data, many other archives must first be processed by the individual researcher. POW provides users with calibrated cartographic images that can be used for geologic mapping, analysis in a Geographic Image System (GIS), change detection, merging of dissimilar instrument images, and use in a host of other scientific applications.

Planetary Geologic Mapping Program Planetary Geologic Mapping Program

The goals for this website are to catalog completed geologic maps and to help track the progress of currently funded maps. If you would like to propose for a mapping investigation, check the appropriate planetary body in the map index or refer to the various mapping pages (linked under Maps above) to see which geologic maps may have already been published or are currently in progress.
