Stable Isotope Natural Gas Reference Materials
The U.S. Geological Survey has developed a suite of natural gas standards. These reference gases are the replacement for the prior standards maintained by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology. Details regarding development of the HCG RMs are provided in USGS Scientific Investigations Report 2021-5136. The natural gas standards are intended to serve as the primary carbon and...
Geochemical and isotopic data from glendonites and surrounding sediment, Carter Creek, North Slope Alaska
The dataset consists of geochemical and isotopic data from fine-grained sediments and glendonite crystals collected at Carter Creek on the North Slope of Alaska. Total Organic Carbon (TOC) values in the measured section were found to range between 0.5 and 3.5%, with a shift towards lower values in the uppermost 5 m of the section. Stable isotopes (13C) in organic matter were relatively stable thro
Data used to determine acceptance criteria for the Petroleum Geochemistry Research Laboratory Programmed Pyrolysis Method
The data release contains programmed pyrolysis data generated in the Petroleum Geochemistry Research Laboratory that was used to determine the precision and accuracy of daily operating standards for the Petroleum Geochemistry Research Laboratory Programmed Pyrolysis Method.
