Diana Phillips

Biography

Diana Phillips is a Hydrologic Technician for the Milford, PA Office of the New York WSC. She started her career at the USGS during August 2019 as a student contractor for the NYWSC Troy Office. Immediately finding enthusiasm for the job, she applied for an open position in the data section as a Hydrologic Technician and started March 2020. Diana's primary responsibilities include monitoring 28 surface-water and groundwater sites along with computing the records for them. Some of her other responsibilities include assisting her colleagues with construction, gage maintenance, and water-quality inspections. She is eager to try out new things and to see how she grows within her career path.

Shortly after becoming a Hydrologic Technician, Diana volunteered to be a Peer Support Worker to promote anti-harassment and discrimination within the USGS. She believes it is very important to encourage positivity and awareness on inclusive topics throughout the workplace. 

Diana received a B.S. in Environmental Science specializing in Sustainability Science and Policy, and a B.A. in Criminal Justice, from the University at Albany, SUNY in May 2019.
