Diana Phillips is a Hydrologist for the Milford, PA Office of the New York WSC. She started her career at the USGS during August 2019 as a student contractor for the NYWSC Troy Office. Immediately finding enthusiasm for the job, she applied for an open position in the data section as a Hydrologic Technician in 2020 and then became a Hydrologist in 2022. As part of the Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS), Diana analyzes groundwater-surface water interactions in the Delaware River Basin and assists in research and development projects. She also runs stage-discharge, index-velocity, large scale particle image velocimetery (LSPIV), groundwater, meteorological, and water-quality sites. She most recently led an effort to successfully establish near real-time discharge on the deepest river in the US--the tidally-influenced Hudson River. Diana has a passion for learning new things and training her colleagues.
