Gabrielle Black, PhD
(She/her)Gabby Black, PhD is a Chemist in the Pesticide Fate Research Group at the California Water Science Center (CAWSC).
In her work at the California Water Science Center, Dr. Black focuses on nontargeted chemical analysis to identify new, unmonitored, or toxicologically significant chemicals in the environment using High Resolution Mass Spectrometry. Her projects focus on surface water, ground water, soil, sediment and biosolids and investigates compounds related to pesticide use, fertilizer application, and illegal cannabis cultivation. Dr. Black has also conducted projects measuring pesticide concentrations in complex, solid environmental matrices.
