October 5, 2020 - Recent Changes to Landsat Mission Web Site URLs

Recently, Congress approved organizational changes to improve the integration of USGS scientific programs and resources.  The USGS National Land Imaging Program, which includes the Landsat Projects, has been transferred from the "Land Resources" Mission Area into the "Core Science Systems" Mission Area.

This organizational change is reflected in all USGS Landsat Missions web site URLs. For example, https://www.usgs.gov/land-resources/nli/landsat is now located at https://www.usgs.gov/core-science-systems/nli/landsat

While most pages currently redirect to the new Core Science Systems Mission Area without any issues, this change may cause "404 Page Not Found" errors on some Landsat web pages.  We therefore encourage you to update any bookmarks you have set up and update the URLs of pages linked from documents or other web pages.  Additionally, established scripts used to receive daily files may require a change to point to the updated web page.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these changes. Please contact USGS Customer Services to report any broken scripts, or to receive assistance in locating Landsat content.
