Land Application of Drilling Fluids in Oklahoma, Derived from Oklahoma Corporation Commission 1014 Permits, 1998-2020

June 13, 2025

The land application of drill fluids is governed by rules established in the Oklahoma Administrative Rules (165:10-7) and permitted by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). While data on the volume and location of land application is publicly accessible through the OCC's website, much of the information is in scanned form documents which limits the operability of these data. This data release is the result of an effort to digitize some of the parameters contained within the OCC scanned forms and make the data more accessible for analysis. Statewide data are included for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015-2020. Data are included for the Upper Washita River watershed (USGS HUC 11130302) for the years 1998-2020.
