The Cost of Biological Threats
Disease has always been a natural source of mortality among fish and wildlife species. With increasing man-made environmental resistance, however, the range, frequency, and severity of disease outbreaks is increasing. Diseases selected as a research priority include Zoonotic influenza; Salmonellosis; West Nile virus; Plague; emerging coronaviruses; Rabies; Brucellosis; and Lyme disease.
