Water security and allocation for human use and ecosystems is a key challenge facing our nation. Water needs and allocation decisions for competing uses are made locally at watershed scales and are heavily reliant on regional drivers, such as climate, season, allocation policies, upstream uses, and downstream flow requirements. 15 CRUs are engaged in more than 40 projects related to drought.
