Wyoming StreamStats

StreamStats was developed for Wyoming in cooperation with the Wyoming Water Development Office.

StreamStats is available for Wyoming on a limited basis. Currently, it allows users to select or enter a stream location, delineate the drainage basin for the selected location, and compute basin characteristics.

Click on this link to obtain general information on the Wyoming application, as well as specific sources and computation methods for basin characteristics. These basin characteristics will be tested for potential use as explanatory variables in an ongoing study to develop new regional regression equations.

Notice: A migration in September of 2025, implemented adjustments to various hydrologic units (HUCs) that make up the spatial backbone of Wyoming StreamStats. Adjustments included:
  • filling of catchment holes for HUCs 14040200, 14040106, 14040103, 10180010, 10180009, 10180007, 10180005, 10180004, 10180003, 10180002, 10150002, 10080010, 100700071, 10070004, and
  • modification of global HUC polygon layer to better match corresponding flow direction grids for HUCs 14040200, 10180003, 10180002, 10180005, and 10180004.
Notice: A migration on April 4, 2025, added an exclusion polygon for some basins in Wyoming where delineations were incorrect. A migration on December 12, 2025, replaced the data causing the incorrect delineations, and removed the exclusion polygon, allowing users to get correct delineations in these areas.
