May 16, 2018 - Landsat MSS Collection 1 Data Now Available

Landsat 1-5 Multispectral Scanner (MSS) Collection 1 Level-1 data are now available to download from the USGS Landsat archive.  The addition of these data into the collection inventory structure that was first implemented in 2016 ensures a consistent archive of known data quality to support time-series analyses. 

The Landsat 1-5 MSS Collection 1 Level-1 dataset is listed on the EarthExplorer (EE) Data Set tab as illustrated below.

NOTE: The LandsatLook Viewer and GloVis data portals will now only display MSS Collection 1 Level-1 data.

Landsat MSS Pre-Collection Level-1 data will remain visible on EE for an undetermined amount of time, and users are strongly encouraged to transition to the Collection 1 inventory dataset to ensure consistency between all Landsat Collection 1 Level-1 data products.
