Significant programmatic developments in both European and U.S. land-imaging satellite systems have ushered in a new era of rapid revisit, operational land imaging, with numerous benefits to data users worldwide. This special session titled, "Landsat-Copernicus Sentinel 2 Collaboration: Integrated operational land imaging to meet user needs worldwide" will review current activities and future plans in transatlantic land-imaging collaboration. Collaboration between the United States and Europe will offer users continuity of high-precision land-imaging data for the next 25 years. Increased availability of data will open up numerous new applications to benefit societies worldwide.
