Farm Runoff, Precipitation, and Water-Quality Relations
Detailed Description
This study identified typical ranges and magnitudes, temporal distributions, and principle factors affecting concentrations and yields of sediment, nutrients, and other constituents in runoff from agricultural fields. The drawing shows water flowing through an agricultural environment. The landscape is based on the farms at which the study was conducted and is centered around a U.S. Geological Survey monitoring station and flume. Clearly relating our science and methodology with the landscape it was conducted in. The upper portions of the drawing represent seasonality with a snowy field fading into one with crops. In the sky there is temporal reference to storm runoff, as well as a weather station that monitored those conditions.
