Shaded relief bathymetry examples

Image show the shape of the seafloor based on depth, one looking at an angle and one in map view or overhead.

Detailed Description

TOP: State-of-the-art multibeam and bathymetric sidescan sonar systems are used to collect high-resolution bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data. These data are the foundation on which most groundtruthing and derivative products are based. Bathymetry data display the shape of the seafloor including rough terrain (possibly rock outcrops?), smooth terrain (possibly sedimented?), canyons, and anthropogenic features.
