Geospatial Applications to Visualize Science and Support Decision‑Making Across Scales
USGS Friday's Findings Webinar - March 6, 2026
Title: Geospatial Applications to Visualize Science and Support Decision‑Making Across Scales
Date: March 6, 2026, at 2:00-2:30 pm Eastern/11:00 -11:30 am Pacific
The USGS Environmental Health Program’s Geospatial Analyses and Applications Team (GAAT) is developing innovative ways to bring complex environmental health data to life. By integrating diverse datasets, building reproducible workflows, and creating intuitive visualization tools, the team supports both broad program needs and highly specific scientific questions.
This Friday Findings webinar will highlight how GAAT synthesizes information, identifies data gaps, and designs applications that help scientists, partners, and decision‑makers understand environmental health challenges across multiple scales. The presentation will feature examples from a wide suite of tools, including the EHP Locations Tool, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Mined Lands application, PFAS drinking water and groundwater tools, USGS geonarratives, and a recent heat‑map application for 6PPD‑quinone.
Join us to learn more about the types of questions GAAT helps address, the strategies behind their geospatial applications, and opportunities to enhance collaboration across the USGS and with external partners.
