Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

This data release includes 3 child items with tracking data for caribou, a terrestrial mammal that ranges between the Alaska and Canada. Child Item 1: "GPS Tracking Data for Caribou (Rangifer tarandus granti) from the Denali Herd, Alaska, 2010-2018" Child Item 2: "GPS Tracking Data for Caribou (Rangifer tarandus granti) from the Fortymile Herd, Alaska, 1998-1999" Child Item 3: "GPS...

California Agricultural Land Use Estimates Derived from Pesticide Use Reporting Data California Agricultural Land Use Estimates Derived from Pesticide Use Reporting Data

Agricultural land use estimates are vital to understanding agricultural production, economic contributions, and water demands. A method to estimate spatially and temporally distributed agricultural land use was developed for California. Pesticide application records were processed to develop annual statewide estimates of agricultural land use at approximately 1-square mile resolution...

Low-Flow Statistic Equations and Supplementary Data for Massachusetts Low-Flow Statistic Equations and Supplementary Data for Massachusetts

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Office of Water Resources, developed regional regression equations for estimating selected low-flow statistics in Massachusetts. This data release contains the datasets used in the regression analyses for the regional low-flow equations for the mainland area of...

Aerial Imagery and Structure-from-Motion Derived Data Products from an Aerial Digital Photographic Survey of 10 Islands in the Oregon Coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex, OR, USA Aerial Imagery and Structure-from-Motion Derived Data Products from an Aerial Digital Photographic Survey of 10 Islands in the Oregon Coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex, OR, USA

This release presents hi-resolution structure-from-motion (SfM) habitat imagery suitable for GIS. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has developed SfM to become a low-cost technique for coastal change assessments. The software uses a combination of camera locations and ground control points to produce digital surface models (DSMs) and orthorectified imagery products. SfM products include...

Public-supply and industrial water withdrawals from the Sparta aquifer by parish in Louisiana, 2023 Public-supply and industrial water withdrawals from the Sparta aquifer by parish in Louisiana, 2023

Since 1975, annual water use for Louisiana has been published on a 5-year basis and is used for a variety of purposes. As the Sparta aquifer is a heavily used aquifer, is the sole source of groundwater for many parishes in Louisiana, and recent withdrawals have exceeded the Sparta’s natural recharge, a more frequent compilation of water usage for the Sparta aquifer in Louisiana is needed...

Continuous 30-Second Gage Height Data for Yellowstone River at Yellowstone Lake Outlet in Yellowstone National Park, 2011–2023 Continuous 30-Second Gage Height Data for Yellowstone River at Yellowstone Lake Outlet in Yellowstone National Park, 2011–2023

The Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center collected continuous gage height data at 30-second intervals at Yellowstone River at Yellowstone Lake Outlet, Yellowstone National Park (YNP), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgage 06186500, from 2011–2023 in a partnership with the USGS Volcanic Science Center. River gage height data can indicate changes in seismic activity at this location...

EcoFlows streamflow and gage height data in the South Fork Spread Creek Basin, Wyoming, and Shields River and North Fork Flathead River Basins, Montana EcoFlows streamflow and gage height data in the South Fork Spread Creek Basin, Wyoming, and Shields River and North Fork Flathead River Basins, Montana

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY-MT WSC), in collaboration with the USGS Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK), measured streamflow in three headwaters basins in Wyoming and Montana to better quantify streamflow, particularly during lower flows in the late summer and fall. The WY-MT WSC installed two streamgages in each of the three...

Water quality and nutrient data from San Joaquin River and Stockton Waterfront, April and August 2024 Water quality and nutrient data from San Joaquin River and Stockton Waterfront, April and August 2024

This dataset records diel changes to water quality parameters, nutrients, and phytoplankton biomass in the south-eastern region of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Sampling occurred in August 2024 in the Stockton Waterfront (City of Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, USA) and San Joaquin River. Data was collected from approximately 6am to 9pm Pacific Standard Time on August 6, 13...

Model application data release for a 2D hydraulic model (HEC-RAS) of the Kalamazoo River Trowbridge Dam to Allegan City Dam reach Model application data release for a 2D hydraulic model (HEC-RAS) of the Kalamazoo River Trowbridge Dam to Allegan City Dam reach

A 2D HEC-RAS hydraulic model was developed to simulate flow velocities and shear stresses within a reach of the Kalamazoo River in southeastern Michigan from the Trowbridge Dam to the Allegan City Dam. The development of the 2D HEC-RAS model is described in the associated U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2025-XXXX. This model archive contains all the files needed...
