Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

This data release contains low-streamflow trend results from 183 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages and precipitation trend results from gaged watersheds within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Data include streamgage identification number, trend slopes and significance for several low-streamflow and precipitation metrics.
Geochemical and 40Ar/39Ar Analytical Data of Rocks from Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve Geochemical and 40Ar/39Ar Analytical Data of Rocks from Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve
This dataset contains major and trace element geochemical data and 40Ar/39Ar isotopic data and ages for rock samples collected during 2016 fieldwork in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. The plutonic rock samples were collected for radiometric age determinations to test for the presence of the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous (130-160 Ma) Saint Elias suite. The age analyses...
Diets and Stable Isotopes of Fishes in Rodeo Lagoon, California, 2016-2017 Diets and Stable Isotopes of Fishes in Rodeo Lagoon, California, 2016-2017
This dataset includes lab data for fish, fish diets, and stable isotopes for fish tissue, vegetation, and invertebrates collected during daylight hours in the Rodeo Lagoon and Lake in Golden Gate National Recreation Area at the Pacific Coast, USA during 2016 and 2017. This data release includes all animal taxa, and isotope values included in the analysis.

This data record contains fitness data for Visher's buckwheat (Eriogonum visheri) for the years 2014, 2015 and 2017 at Badlands National Park, South Dakota, USA. These data include insect visitation, pollen deposited on stigmas, achene size and germination over three field seasons (two field seasons for germination: 2015 and 2017) in four populations (two populations in 2017).
County-Level Geographic Distributions for 47 Exotic Plant Species in Midwest USA and Central Canada, Compiled 2019 County-Level Geographic Distributions for 47 Exotic Plant Species in Midwest USA and Central Canada, Compiled 2019
Geographic distribution data were collected based on county level occurrences (or converted from point occurrences to county level occurrences) within the five focal states (Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska & Iowa) and each U.S. state or Canadian province bordering those focal states (Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Wyoming, & Montana in the USA and Saskatchewan...
Historical Length, Weight, and Fecundity of Silver Chub (Macrhybopsis storeriana) in Western Lake Erie Historical Length, Weight, and Fecundity of Silver Chub (Macrhybopsis storeriana) in Western Lake Erie
This data set provides a table of length, weight, sex, and estimated fecundity of Silver Chub Macrhybopsis storeriana in western Lake Erie from 1979 through 1987. These data are potentially useful to those studying recovery and restoration of Silver Chub in Lake Erie. These data were collected as part of routine trawl surveys in western Lake Erie. Other data associated with these data...
The Basin Characterization Model - A monthly regional water balance software package (BCMv8) data release and model archive for hydrologic California (ver. 5.0, June 2025) The Basin Characterization Model - A monthly regional water balance software package (BCMv8) data release and model archive for hydrologic California (ver. 5.0, June 2025)
This data release accompanies the USGS Techniques and Methods report titled: "The Basin Characterization Model - A Regional Water Balance Software Package", and includes all necessary Basin Characterization Model version 8 (BCMv8) inputs and outputs for water years 1896 to 2024. The BCMv8 was refined from the previous BCMv65 version to improve the accuracy of the water-balance components
Lake Erie Aquatic Vegetation data Lake Erie Aquatic Vegetation data
Observations and subtle shifts of vegetation communities in western Lake Erie have USGS researchers concerned about the potential for Grass Carp to alter these vegetation communities. Broad-scale surveys of vegetation using remote sensing and GIS mapping, coupled with on-the-ground samples in key locations will permit assessment of the effect Grass Carp may have already had on aquatic...
Geomorphic Mapping of Fall Creek Lake, Oregon, 2016 Geomorphic Mapping of Fall Creek Lake, Oregon, 2016
The Middle Fork Willamette River Basin encompasses 3,548 square kilometers of western Oregon and drains to the mainstem Willamette River. Fall Creek Basin encompasses 653 square kilometers and drains to the Middle Fork Willamette River. In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Geological Survey evaluated geomorphic responses to dam operations at Fall Creek Lake in...
