Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

CTD profiles and discrete water-column measurements collected off California and Oregon during NOAA cruise RL-19-05 (USGS field activity 2019-672-FA) from October to November 2019 CTD profiles and discrete water-column measurements collected off California and Oregon during NOAA cruise RL-19-05 (USGS field activity 2019-672-FA) from October to November 2019
Various water column variables, including salinity, dissolved inorganic nutrients, pH, total alkalinity, dissolved inorganic carbon, rwere measured in samples collected using a Niskin-bottle rosette at selected depths from sites offshore of California and Oregon from October to November 2019 during NOAA cruise RL-19-05 on the R/V Reuben Lasker (USGS field activity 2019-672-FA). CTD...
Digital subsurface data of Mesozoic rocks in the Upper Colorado River Basin in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico from USGS Regional Aquifer System Analysis Digital subsurface data of Mesozoic rocks in the Upper Colorado River Basin in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico from USGS Regional Aquifer System Analysis
The Upper Colorado River Basin has a drainage area of about 113,500 square miles in western Colorado, eastern Utah, southwestern Wyoming, northeastern Arizona, and northwestern New Mexico. In the 1980's and 1990's, the Upper Colorado River Basin was a study area under of the U.S. Geological Survey's Regional Aquifer-System Analysis (RASA) program (Sun and Johnston, 1994; Sun and Weeks...
Data collected in 2010 to evaluate habitat availability for surf smelt and eelgrass in response to sea level rise on Bainbridge Island, Puget Sound, Washington, USA Data collected in 2010 to evaluate habitat availability for surf smelt and eelgrass in response to sea level rise on Bainbridge Island, Puget Sound, Washington, USA
This dataset includes biological variables showing surf smelt spawning presence, geological variables describing beach composition, and sample locations using RTK-GPS. This field data was also used to run the Sea Level Affecting Marshes Model (SLAMM; Warren Pinnacle Consulting, Inc., Warren, Vt)) to predict the changes to beaches over time, and under different sea level rise scenarios...
Surface geophysics investigations at Edwards Air Force Research Laboratory, Antelope Valley, California, 2018 Surface geophysics investigations at Edwards Air Force Research Laboratory, Antelope Valley, California, 2018
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is about 7 kilometers southwest of Boron, California, and covers 320 square kilometers of Edwards Air Force Base. The AFRL consists of 12 facilities for testing full-size rocket engines, engine components, and liquid and solid propellants. The historical release of contaminants from rocket test stands, evaporation ponds, burn pits, catch basins...
Nuclear inclusion X testing of Pacific Razor clams from select locations in Washington and Alaska Nuclear inclusion X testing of Pacific Razor clams from select locations in Washington and Alaska
A quantitative PCR (qPCR) assay was developed to detect nuclear inclusion X (NIX) in Pacific razor clams, and assay specificity was confirmed by chromogenic in situ hybridization (CISH). Both tests were applied to evaluate NIX infections in wild Pacific razor clams collected during spring 2019. Consistent with results from earlier histopathological assessments, qPCR and CISH indicated...
Seismic reflection imaging of the low-angle Panamint normal fault system, eastern California, 2018 Seismic reflection imaging of the low-angle Panamint normal fault system, eastern California, 2018
A fundamental question in seismic hazard analysis is whether
Unsaturated zone soil properties near a dry well and Four-plex baseball field, Fort Irwin National Training Center, San Bernardino County, California, 2019-2020 Unsaturated zone soil properties near a dry well and Four-plex baseball field, Fort Irwin National Training Center, San Bernardino County, California, 2019-2020
The U.S. Army Fort Irwin National Training Center (NTC), approximately 35 miles north-northeast of Barstow, California, obtains all of its potable water supply from three groundwater basins (Irwin, Langford, and Bicycle Basins) within the NTC boundaries. In these basins, groundwater withdrawals exceed natural recharge, resulting in water-level declines. However, managed aquifer recharge...
Early Establishment Patterns of 'Local' Wyoming Big Sagebrush Population in Common Gardens Along Elevational Gradient in Owyhee Mountains, Idaho Early Establishment Patterns of 'Local' Wyoming Big Sagebrush Population in Common Gardens Along Elevational Gradient in Owyhee Mountains, Idaho
This dataset contains information on the survival of sagebrush seedlings originating from seed collected from 3 'local' populations over 2+ years. Datasets presented consist of individual seedling survival, growth and reproduction data as well as population level results as they relate to the differences in modeled and calculated climate variables and the differences between the climatic
Mercury Bioaccumulation in US National Parks Using Dragonfly Larvae as Biosentinels, 2009-2018 Mercury Bioaccumulation in US National Parks Using Dragonfly Larvae as Biosentinels, 2009-2018
Comma-separated values (.csv) files containing data related to a National-scale assessment of mercury bioaccumulation in the US National Parks using dragonfly larvae as biosentinels through a citizen science framework.
Vegetation data from burned and unburned sagebrush communities in eastern Washington (2016) Vegetation data from burned and unburned sagebrush communities in eastern Washington (2016)
The dataset includes several variables sampled across burned and unburned sagebrush communities located in an approximately 30 square kilometer portion of the Columbia Plateau Ecoregion in eastern Washington, USA. The study area is characterized by landforms interspersed at fine-scales, representative of the channeled scabland topography of the region (Baker 2009), including: "mounds,"...
Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) monitoring data for metademographic analysis 2010-2018, Oregon Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) monitoring data for metademographic analysis 2010-2018, Oregon
This dataset contains information from surveys conducted 2010-2018 by USGS as part of a long-term Oregon spotted frog monitoring effort in the central Oregon range. Data consist of site, survey, habitat, and species detection covariates, as well as inter-site distance measurements.
