Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Chemistry of water, stream sediment, wildfire ash, soil, dust, and mine waste for Fourmile Creek Watershed, Colorado, 2010-2019 Chemistry of water, stream sediment, wildfire ash, soil, dust, and mine waste for Fourmile Creek Watershed, Colorado, 2010-2019
In response to the 2010 Fourmile Canyon fire near Boulder, Colorado, the U.S. Geological Survey collected data to support investigations into the magnitude and critical drivers of water-quality impairment after wildfire. We analyzed chemistry of stream water, sediment, wildfire ash, soil, dust, and mine waste for metals and other parameters in order to evaluate the effects of legacy...
Sap Quantity at Study Sites in the Northeast Sap Quantity at Study Sites in the Northeast
Maple syrup is produced from the sap of sugar maple collected in the late winter and early spring. Native American tribes have collected and boiled down sap for centuries, and the tapping of maple trees is a cultural touchstone for many people in the northeast and Midwest. Because the tapping season is dependent on weather conditions, there is concern about the sustainability of maple...

Survey and Bathymetric Data of Deadmans Lake; Golf Course Reservoir 9; Ice Lake; Kettle Lakes 1-3; and Non-Potable Reservoirs 1-4 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, 2019 (ver. 1.1, June 2020) Survey and Bathymetric Data of Deadmans Lake; Golf Course Reservoir 9; Ice Lake; Kettle Lakes 1-3; and Non-Potable Reservoirs 1-4 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, 2019 (ver. 1.1, June 2020)
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force Academy, carried out bathymetry surveys to characterize the water-supply capacity of Deadmans Lake; Golf Course Reservoir 9; Ice Lake; Kettle Lakes 1, 2, and 3; and Non-Potable reservoirs 1, 2, 3, and 4 at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado in 2019. This data release includes: the elevation and volumes at...
Surface Displacement Observations of the 2019 Ridgecrest, California Earthquake Sequence Surface Displacement Observations of the 2019 Ridgecrest, California Earthquake Sequence
Surface rupture associated with the 2019 Ridgecrest, California earthquake sequence includes the dominantly left-lateral and northeast-striking M6.4 rupture and dominantly right-lateral and northwest-striking M7.1 rupture. This data release includes surface-displacement observations of these ruptures made by teams of federal, state, academic, and private sector geologists between July...
FaSTMECH model water surface elevation and velocities for the Lower Sheboygan River, Wisconsin FaSTMECH model water surface elevation and velocities for the Lower Sheboygan River, Wisconsin
In 2011-12, the U.S. Geological Survey conducted a study of the and hydrogeomorphic history and hydrodynamic characteristics of the lower 5 kilometers of the Sheboygan River, a tributary to Lake Michigan in eastern Wisconsin. The hydrogeomorphic history and stability of an ecologically important island complex in the Sheboygan River, the Wildwood Islands, was studied to determine the...
Robust ecological drought projection data for drylands in the 21st century Robust ecological drought projection data for drylands in the 21st century
These data represent simulated ecological drought conditions for current climate, and for future climate represented by all available climate models at two time periods during the 21st century. These data were used to: 1) describe geographic patterns in ecological drought under historical climate conditions, 2) quantify the direction and magnitude of change in ecological drought, 3)...
Pacific Walrus Behavior Data and Associated Chukchi Sea Ice Observations and Projections for use with Bioenergetics Models to Forecast Walrus Body Condition Pacific Walrus Behavior Data and Associated Chukchi Sea Ice Observations and Projections for use with Bioenergetics Models to Forecast Walrus Body Condition
This data release includes three datasets used to develop forecasts of autumn body condition for adult female Pacific walruses in the Chukchi Sea during mid and late century time periods. (1) The activity dataset contains daily telemetry records for 218 adult female walruses tracked for periods of 7 to 104 days during 2008-2014, in the Chukchi Sea. Records include the number of hours the...
Multistate Capture and Search Data from the Southern Beaufort Sea Polar Bear Subpopulation in Alaska, 2001-2016 Multistate Capture and Search Data from the Southern Beaufort Sea Polar Bear Subpopulation in Alaska, 2001-2016
This data release contains two tables of information on polar bear distributions in the southern Beaufort Sea during spring, from 2001 to 2016. One table provides location (classified into 5 broad regions) of individual bears during the spring. The other table presents the aerial search effort by year and area.
Habitat Selection Scenarios for Molting Waterfowl in the Goose Molting Area of the Teshekpuk Lake Special Area, for NPR-A Integrated Activity Plan/Environmental Impact Statement, 2020 Habitat Selection Scenarios for Molting Waterfowl in the Goose Molting Area of the Teshekpuk Lake Special Area, for NPR-A Integrated Activity Plan/Environmental Impact Statement, 2020
The dataset consists of a polygon shapefile. Each polygon represents a set of molt units (interconnected lakes used as habitat by molting waterfowl) within the Goose Molting Area of the Teshekpuk Lake Special Area in northern Alaska, in addition to a half-mile or 1-mile wide buffer, that were selected for restrictions on new surface occupancy or infrastructure development by the oil and...
Benthic Community and Bivalve Metrics Data in the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta from 2015 to 2018 Benthic Community and Bivalve Metrics Data in the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta from 2015 to 2018
Declining phytoplankton biomass and the resulting stress on the food web has been suggested as one contributor to the decline of Delta Smelt and other fish species in the San Francisco Bay (SFB) and the Sacramento San Joaquin River Delta. Filter feeding by two species of bivalves, Corbicula fluminea and Potamocorbula amurensis, has been shown to control phytoplankton growth rate in the...
ListingAnalyst version 1.2 ListingAnalyst version 1.2
ListingAnalyst has been updated to work with MODFLOW 6 and the most recent versions of MODFLOW-2005 and MODFLOW-NWT. In addition to recognizing many additional error and warning messages, it also recognizes data for the Riparian package in MODFLOW-OWHM, the AG package in MODFLOW-NWT and the Surface-Water Routing package.
