Radioanalytical Measurements on Samples From Submarine, Karstic Carbonate Features Along the West Florida Shelf Radioanalytical Measurements on Samples From Submarine, Karstic Carbonate Features Along the West Florida Shelf

Relict karstic features, often referred to as blue holes, are common features along continental shelves that are underlain by carbonate rich sediments and/or rocks. Several of these features occur along the west-Florida shelf within the Gulf of Mexico, including the two mentioned in this data product: Amberjack Hole and Green Banana Sink (hereafter referred to as Green Banana)...

Groundwater-Level Altitudes and Volatile and Semivolatile Organic Compound Concentrations at the Petro-Chemical Systems, Inc. (Turtle Bayou) Superfund Site, Liberty County, Texas, 2020 Groundwater-Level Altitudes and Volatile and Semivolatile Organic Compound Concentrations at the Petro-Chemical Systems, Inc. (Turtle Bayou) Superfund Site, Liberty County, Texas, 2020

In 2020, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, collected groundwater-level altitude data and water-quality samples from monitoring wells at the Petro-Chemical Systems, Inc. (Turtle Bayou) Superfund Site in Liberty County, Texas to evaluate the status of groundwater contamination at this previously remediated site. The dataset includes...

Groundwater-quality data in the Butte-Sutter-Yuba Domestic-Supply Aquifer Study Unit, 2021: Results from the California GAMA Priority Basin Project Groundwater-quality data in the Butte-Sutter-Yuba Domestic-Supply Aquifer Study Unit, 2021: Results from the California GAMA Priority Basin Project

The U.S. Geological Survey collected groundwater samples from 38 wells used for domestic and small system drinking water supplies in Butte, Sutter, and Yuba counties of California during 2021. The wells were sampled for the Butte-Sutter-Yuba Domestic-Supply Aquifer Study Unit of the State Water Resources Control Board Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) Program Priority...

Agisoft Metashape/Photoscan Automated Image Alignment and Error Reduction version 2.0 Agisoft Metashape/Photoscan Automated Image Alignment and Error Reduction version 2.0

This repository contains python scripts which automate image alignment and sparse point cloud error reduction in the Agisoft Metashape/Photoscan structure from motion photogrammetry software package using the Agisoft Metashape Python API. The current version of the script (version 2.0) approximates the workflow described in U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 2021-1039 (Over et al...

Laboratory and Field Data for a Performance Evaluation of the PhytoFind, an In-Place Phytoplankton Classification Tool Laboratory and Field Data for a Performance Evaluation of the PhytoFind, an In-Place Phytoplankton Classification Tool

This data release presents the laboratory and field results of a performance evaluation conducted on the Turner Designs, Inc., PhytoFind, an in-place phytoplankton classification tool. The laboratory evaluation included tests that were designed to characterize PhytoFind performance under a range of conditions that may affect phytoplankton fluorescence and sensor response. Laboratory...

MODFLOW-6 model to update and extend the Los Angeles Coastal Plain Groundwater Model MODFLOW-6 model to update and extend the Los Angeles Coastal Plain Groundwater Model

The Los Angeles Coastal Plain (LACP) covers about 580 square miles and is the largest coastal plain of semiarid southern California. The LACP is heavily developed with mostly residential, commercial, and industrial land uses that rely heavily on groundwater for water supply. In 2010, the LACP was home to about 14 percent of California’s population and is also a major commercial and...

Satellite precipitation estimates for selected locations in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (ver. 3.0, January 2025) Satellite precipitation estimates for selected locations in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (ver. 3.0, January 2025)

The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a sovereign Small Island State in the tropical central North Pacific Ocean. RMI is a nation of more than thirty atolls and islands, most of which are inhabited, dispersed across an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) over 2 million square kilometers. This data release contains files of daily precipitation estimates beginning in 2001 for 23...

Multichannel sparker and chirp seismic reflection data collected offshore South East Alaska during USGS Field Activity 2017-621-FA Multichannel sparker and chirp seismic reflection data collected offshore South East Alaska during USGS Field Activity 2017-621-FA

High-resolution multichannel seismic reflection data and chirp sub-bottom data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in July and August 2017 offshore southeast Alaska to expand data coverage along the Queen Charlotte Fault system. Data were acquired to study earthquake hazards, fault mechanics and submarine mass wasting processes along the Queen Charlotte fault system, a 1200 km...

Datasets of Suspended Sediment Concentration and Percent Fines (1973–2021), Sampling Information (1973–2021), and Daily Streamflow (1928–2021) for Sites in the Lower Mississippi and Atchafalaya Rivers to Support Analyses of Sediment Tran Datasets of Suspended Sediment Concentration and Percent Fines (1973–2021), Sampling Information (1973–2021), and Daily Streamflow (1928–2021) for Sites in the Lower Mississippi and Atchafalaya Rivers to Support Analyses of Sediment Tran

Datasets of suspended sediment concentration and percent fines, sampling information, and daily streamflow data were compiled and harmonized for 16 sites to better understand sediment transport and delivery in the Lower Mississippi and Atchafalaya Rivers. The compiled data were harmonized by removing unnecessary columns, screening data for laboratory or sampling issues, creating...

U.S. range-wide spatial prediction layers of lek persistence probabilities for greater sage-grouse U.S. range-wide spatial prediction layers of lek persistence probabilities for greater sage-grouse

This dataset contains two predictive lek (breeding site) persistence raster layers covering the U.S. greater sage-grouse distribution. In the United States, locations where males display and breed with females (i.e., leks) are often monitored annually by state wildlife agencies, providing valuable information on the persistence of birds in the surrounding areas. A U.S. range-wide lek...

Training dataset for NABat Machine Learning V1.0 Training dataset for NABat Machine Learning V1.0

Bats play crucial ecological roles and provide valuable ecosystem services, yet many populations face serious threats from various ecological disturbances. The North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat) aims to assess status and trends of bat populations while developing innovative and community-driven conservation solutions using its unique data and technology infrastructure. To...

Light model and GPP estimates for 173 U.S. rivers Light model and GPP estimates for 173 U.S. rivers

This data release contains products from Savoy & Harvey (2021) which modeled photosynthetically active radiation and gross primary productivity (GPP) for 173 streams and rivers across the continental United States. Estimates of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) were generated using a model that considers the contribution of light attenuation from riparian zones as well as within...
