Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Field-Verified Irrigated Lands Dataset in the Milk River Basin of Montana and Alberta, 2021 and 2022 Field-Verified Irrigated Lands Dataset in the Milk River Basin of Montana and Alberta, 2021 and 2022
Field-verified irrigated lands data were collected for the Remote Sensing Component of the St. Mary-Milk Rivers Consumptive Use study to aid in the identification and delineation of agricultural fields that are irrigated in 2021 and 2022 in the Milk River basin. This field verification of irrigated fields will provide data that will be used to ground truth evapotranspiration estimates...
Cataloging and Digitizing USGS Indirect Measurements for Montana through Water Year 2020 (ver. 2.0, February 2026) Cataloging and Digitizing USGS Indirect Measurements for Montana through Water Year 2020 (ver. 2.0, February 2026)
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program, cataloged and scanned notes and calculations for indirect measurements taken during flood events in Montana. This product provides a publicly available catalog of the field notes, photos, survey information, and calculations for indirect measurements at selected sites...
National Water-Well Database (NWWDB): Minnesota National Water-Well Database (NWWDB): Minnesota
This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release represents the Minnesota component of the National Water-Well Database (NWWDB). The NWWDB is a compilation of water-well records from state-managed databases that have been standardized to a common format for consistency across state and administrative boundaries. Water-well completion reports that are submitted to permitting state agencies...
Supplemental Data: Estimated effects of pumping on groundwater storage and Walker River stream efficiencies in Smith and Mason Valleys, west-central Nevada Supplemental Data: Estimated effects of pumping on groundwater storage and Walker River stream efficiencies in Smith and Mason Valleys, west-central Nevada
This USGS data release consists of 15 geospatial datasets for Smith Valley and Mason Valley, west-central Nevada, including contours representing groundwater levels based on depth-to-water measurements, groundwater-level change rasters calculated from groundwater-level contours, groundwater-level change rasters calculated from depth-to-water point values, and groundwater monitoring well...

This U.S. Geological Survey data release contains data for Smith and Mason Valleys, California and Nevada, from the 2009 publication: Lopes, T.J.,and Allander, K.K., 2009, Hydrologic Setting and Conceptual Hydrologic Model of the Walker River Basin, West-Central Nevada: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2009–5155, https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20095155. Data include (1...
Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models: Climate Data Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models: Climate Data
This digital dataset contains the climate data used for the Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models (Salinas Valley Integrated Hydrologic Model (SVIHM) and Salinas Valley Operational Model (SVOM)). The monthly climate data for the Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models are based on the regional climate data for the Salinas Valley Hydrologic System [Hevesi and others, 2022]. To develop the...
Diel and synoptic sampling data from Boulder Creek and South Boulder Creek, near Boulder, Colorado, September–October 2019 Diel and synoptic sampling data from Boulder Creek and South Boulder Creek, near Boulder, Colorado, September–October 2019
Multiple sampling campaigns were conducted near Boulder, Colorado, to quantify constituent concentrations and loads in Boulder Creek and its tributary, South Boulder Creek. Diel sampling was initiated at approximately 1100 hours on September 17, 2019, and continued until approximately 2300 hours on September 18, 2019. During this time period, samples were collected at two locations on...
Passive Seismic Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio Measurements at Transportation Infrastructure Sites in New Hampshire, 2022 Passive Seismic Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio Measurements at Transportation Infrastructure Sites in New Hampshire, 2022
In 2022, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) made 107 horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio (HVSR) passive seismic geophysical measurements at four transportation infrastructure sites in New Hampshire to determine the benefits of HVSR as an enhancement to traditional geotechnical site characterizations performed by...
Data for depth of groundwater used for drinking-water supplies in the United States (ver. 2.0, January 2026) Data for depth of groundwater used for drinking-water supplies in the United States (ver. 2.0, January 2026)
This data release includes grids representing the depth and thickness of drinking-water withdrawal zones, polygons of hydrogeologic settings, an inventory of sources of well construction data, and summaries of data comparisons used to assess the depth of groundwater used for drinking-water supplies in the United States.
