The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Ocean wave time-series data simulated with a global-scale numerical wave model under the influence of historical and projected CMIP6 wind and sea ice fields (ver. 2.0, October 2024) Ocean wave time-series data simulated with a global-scale numerical wave model under the influence of historical and projected CMIP6 wind and sea ice fields (ver. 2.0, October 2024)

Hourly time-series of waves at the 20m, 50m, and 100m isobaths, along all U.S. open coasts for the historical (1979-2014) and projected (2020-2050) period: Those data (estimates of historical and long-term future conditions) were developed by running the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) WaveWatch3 wave model forced with winds and sea ice extents from four separate...

Detection range and efficiency of acoustic telemetry receivers in Clear Lake, Lake County, California Detection range and efficiency of acoustic telemetry receivers in Clear Lake, Lake County, California

Data on the detection range and efficiency of VR2W-69 kHz acoustic receivers (Innovasea Marine Systems Canada Inc., Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada; https://www.vemco.com/) were collected to guide the development of telemetry studies of the Clear Lake Hitch (Lavinia exilicauda chi), an imperiled fish species endemic to Clear Lake, Lake County, California. The study took place June 21, 2021...

Water-Quality and Depth to Water for Groundwater Wells Primarily Completed in the Ogallala Aquifer within the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District, Texas Panhandle, 2012–13 and 2019–20 Water-Quality and Depth to Water for Groundwater Wells Primarily Completed in the Ogallala Aquifer within the North Plains Groundwater Conservation District, Texas Panhandle, 2012–13 and 2019–20

The Ogallala aquifer is contained in the Tertiary-age Ogallala Formation in the Texas Panhandle and is the primary water-bearing hydrogeologic unit of the High Plains aquifer system. The Ogallala aquifer is the primary source of water used for agricultural and municipal purposes in the Texas Panhandle. The Dockum aquifer is contained in the formations that compose the Triassic-age Dockum...

Environmental DNA and Fish Capture Data from Round Goby Surveys on the Champlain Canal (ver. 17.0, December 2025) Environmental DNA and Fish Capture Data from Round Goby Surveys on the Champlain Canal (ver. 17.0, December 2025)

The dataset is composed of five tables containing environmental DNA (eDNA) data, fish capture data, viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) test results, and site location information from Round Goby (Neogobius melanostomus) surveys conducted on parts of the Champlain Canal and upper Hudson River, and adjacent areas, in New York during 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. First posted May 5...

2022 Release - North American Breeding Bird Survey Dataset (1966-2021) 2022 Release - North American Breeding Bird Survey Dataset (1966-2021)

The 1966-2021 North American Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) dataset contains avian point count data for more than 700 North American bird taxa (species, races, and unidentified species groupings). These data are collected annually during the breeding season, primarily in June, along thousands of randomly established roadside survey routes in the United States and Canada. Routes are roughly...

Topographic LiDAR surveys of rivers in Alaska, July 24-26, 2019 Topographic LiDAR surveys of rivers in Alaska, July 24-26, 2019

The U.S. Geological Survey in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) collected topographic LiDAR surveys of four rivers in Alaska from July 24-26, 2019 to support research related to remote sensing of river discharge. Data were acquired for the Matanuska, Chena, Salcha, and Tanana Rivers using a Riegl VQ-580 LiDAR. The...
