Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Multicriteria decision analysis scores for rapid delta smelt decision analysis Multicriteria decision analysis scores for rapid delta smelt decision analysis
These data were compiled to support water management decision-making by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and California Department of Water Resources related to the Central Valley Project (CVP) and State Water Project (SWP) operations in water year 2025. The objectives of the study were to use structured decision making to assess tradeoffs between multiple competing water needs and inform...
Benthic habitat map of the geomorphological structure, biological cover, and geologic zonation of Olowalu reef, Maui Benthic habitat map of the geomorphological structure, biological cover, and geologic zonation of Olowalu reef, Maui
This shapefile contains habitat polygons identifying the dominant and major geomorphological structure, biological type and percent cover, and geologic zone for 11 square kilometers of Olowalu reef off west-central Maui at a minimum mapping unit of 100 square meters. Habitats were mapped with heads-up digitization using the NOAA Habitat Digitizer Extension in ArcMap (Esri, v.10.8.2)...
Data from laboratory experiments to assess seasonal carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus processing in water and sediments from the Illinois River near Starved Rock Lock and Dam, 2022. Data from laboratory experiments to assess seasonal carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus processing in water and sediments from the Illinois River near Starved Rock Lock and Dam, 2022.
Data on carbon and nutrient processing in key locations and over seasonal time scales can provide critical information about the concentrations and potential utilization rates of bioavailable constituents that are known to have a role in cyanobacteria harmful algal blooms (cyanoHABs). Laboratory experiments were performed to measure seasonal nutrient processing rates of carbon, nitrogen...
Site information and compound concentrations for 15 Iowa streams, 2021 Site information and compound concentrations for 15 Iowa streams, 2021
Microplastics, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), and pesticides cause unintentional environmental contamination through many pathways in multiple matrices. This statewide, multi-matrix study examined multiple contaminants of global concern (CGCs) in water, bed sediment, and fish to...
Digital GIS data for the Geologic Map of the Beans Cove and Hyndman quadrangles and part of the Fairhope Quadrangle, Bedford County, Pennsylvania from the original map of de Witt, 1974 Digital GIS data for the Geologic Map of the Beans Cove and Hyndman quadrangles and part of the Fairhope Quadrangle, Bedford County, Pennsylvania from the original map of de Witt, 1974
This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides a digital geospatial database for the bedrock geologic map of the Beans Cove and Hyndman quadrangles and part of the Fairhope quadrangle (de Witt, 1974). Attribute tables and geospatial features (points, lines, and polygons) conform to the Geologic Map Schema (GeMS, 2020) and represent the geologic map as published in the...
Phragmites Adaptive Management Framework (PAMF) participant and model data (2017-2021) Phragmites Adaptive Management Framework (PAMF) participant and model data (2017-2021)
Non-native Phragmites australis is one of the most aggressive plant species invading North America and is managed using a suite of conventional approaches (e.g., herbicide, cutting/crushing, flooding, burning). These management actions are resource intensive and differ in effectiveness, largely because there are uncertainties about how the plant responds to treatment given site-specific...
