Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Data for Investigating the Joint Effect of Changes in Impervious Cover and Climate on Trends in Floods Data for Investigating the Joint Effect of Changes in Impervious Cover and Climate on Trends in Floods
This data release contains data in support of "The Joint Effect of Changes in Impervious Cover and Climate on Trends in Floods: A Comparison of Panel and Single-Station Quantile Regression Approaches" (Over and others, 2025). It contains input and output data used to analyze the effect of impervious cover and climate changes on trends in floods using three regression approaches. The...
Solutions and extended results for laboratory tests used in the development of a large volume concentration method to recover infectious avian influenza virus from the aquatic environment, 2022 Solutions and extended results for laboratory tests used in the development of a large volume concentration method to recover infectious avian influenza virus from the aquatic environment, 2022
Datasets used in developing a large volume concentration method to recover avian influenza. These tables include: (1) Information on the solutions used in tests 1 and 2, (2) field parameter at collection and air temperature data corresponding to periods of raw wetland transport and storage, (3) full results of the laboratory studies, (4) results of the ultrafilter test, and (5) standard...
Inventory of rock avalanches in the central Chugach Mountains, northern Prince William Sound, Alaska, 1984-2024 Inventory of rock avalanches in the central Chugach Mountains, northern Prince William Sound, Alaska, 1984-2024
In the Prince William Sound region of Alaska, recent glacier retreat started in the mid-1800s and began to accelerate in the mid-2000s in response to warming air temperatures (Maraldo and others, 2020). Prince William Sound is surrounded by the Chugach Mountains and has numerous ocean-terminating glaciers, with rapid deglaciation increasingly exposing oversteepened bedrock walls of...
Counts and measurements for specimens of Percina crypta and Percina nigrofasciata (sensu lato) Counts and measurements for specimens of Percina crypta and Percina nigrofasciata (sensu lato)
Counts and measurements were made on specimens of the Halloween darter (Percina crypta) and of the Blackbanded darter (Percina nigrofasciata, sensu lato). Data used in the original description of Percina crypta are included, in addition to counts (and in some cases measurements) for 66 additional Percina nigrofasciata from the Savannah, Altamaha, and upper Chattahoohee river systems, and...
Preliminary digital data for a 3-layer geologic model of the conterminous United States using land surface, top of bedrock, and top of basement (ver. 1.1, April 2025) Preliminary digital data for a 3-layer geologic model of the conterminous United States using land surface, top of bedrock, and top of basement (ver. 1.1, April 2025)
This digital dataset compiles a 3-layer geologic model of the conterminous United States by mapping the altitude of three surfaces: land surface, top of bedrock, and top of basement. These surfaces are mapped through the compilation and synthesis of published stratigraphic horizons from numerous topical studies. The mapped surfaces create a 3-layer geologic model with three geomaterials...
Archive of hydraulic and hydrologic models used in the Stoney Brook watershed in Carlton and St. Louis Counties, Minnesota, 2008–2024 Archive of hydraulic and hydrologic models used in the Stoney Brook watershed in Carlton and St. Louis Counties, Minnesota, 2008–2024
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa (FDLB), Minnesota, analyzed the hydrologic and hydraulic conditions within the Stoney Brook watershed. The Stoney Brook watershed covers an area of 100.8 square miles in Carlton and St. Louis counties with most of the watershed within the Fond du Lac Reservation. Wild rice, which is...
