Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Rodent habitat and community data to evaluate outcomes of wildfire and post-fire restoration treatments Rodent habitat and community data to evaluate outcomes of wildfire and post-fire restoration treatments
This dataset contains observations used to better understand rodent habitat and community composition 2-15 years post-wildfire with different post-fire restoration treatments (post-fire seeding of native or non-native species). Field data come from 3 wildfire sites in the Northern Basin and Range Ecoregion. Vegetation structure and composition measurements were collected at 71 plots, and...
Riparian plant and ecosystem water use data in North American drylands between 1997 and 2020 extracted from published studies Riparian plant and ecosystem water use data in North American drylands between 1997 and 2020 extracted from published studies
These data were compiled to support a synthesis of over two decades of riparian plant and ecosystem water use estimates from the drylands of North America. The objectives of the study were to determine if some riparian plant communities exhibit lower plant water use than others, assess if plant water use changes under hotter climates, and evaluate if models based on existing data, plant
Computed and estimated streamflow in Bronson and Fanno Creeks, OR, 2016-2017 Computed and estimated streamflow in Bronson and Fanno Creeks, OR, 2016-2017
The USGS computed streamflow during 2016 and 2017 at two sites – one on Bronson Creek (USGS station 453250122494501) and one on Fanno Creek (USGS station 452738122474100), which are tributaries to the Tualatin River in northwestern Oregon. The computed streamflows from the two aforementioned sites were then used to estimate the corresponding streamflow at two other sites- USGS station
Fish community data for rivers and streams in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area Fish community data for rivers and streams in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has regularly collected fish community data from wadable streams in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, beginning with the first recorded sample in 1993 and continuing through 2024. These data were collected via electrofishing and seining (in accordance with standard USGS protocols), with the intent of monitoring fish communities and water quality in the area...
Underwater imagery and classifications of the substrate and coral reef habitat on the Kona coast of the Island of Hawai`i, from 2003, 2004, and 2022 Underwater imagery and classifications of the substrate and coral reef habitat on the Kona coast of the Island of Hawai`i, from 2003, 2004, and 2022
Images of the seafloor off the Kona coast of the Island of Hawai`i were collected by the United States Geological Survey in 2003, 2004, and 2022, during field activities A803HW, A204HW, A604HW, and 2022-615-FA. The images were acquired in cooperation with the National Park Service, primarily in the waters off Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park, Pu`ukohola Heiau National Historic...
Geochemical, Geochronologic, and Isotopic Data for Proterozoic rocks from Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah Geochemical, Geochronologic, and Isotopic Data for Proterozoic rocks from Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah
This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release includes whole-rock major, trace, and rare earth element geochemical data, whole-rock Nd-Pb-Sr isotopic data collected by thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS), and zircon U-Pb isotopic data collected by laser ablation-inductively coupled mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) methods. These data provide constraints on, and characterize, the...
