Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Peak-flow frequency analyses for selected streamgages in Carter, Custer, Fallon, Powder River, and Prairie Counties, Montana, based on data through water year 2022 Peak-flow frequency analyses for selected streamgages in Carter, Custer, Fallon, Powder River, and Prairie Counties, Montana, based on data through water year 2022
The USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY–MT WSC) completed a report (Sando and McCarthy, 2018) documenting methods for peak-flow frequency analysis following implementation of the Bulletin 17C guidelines (England and others, 2019). The methods are used to provide estimates of peak-flow quantiles for 66.7-, 50-, 42.9-, 20-, 10-, 4-, 2-, 1-, 0.5-, and 0.2-percent annual exceedance
Working Dog Tick Transect results and cost comparisons in Jackson Hole, WY from Oct - Nov 2021 Working Dog Tick Transect results and cost comparisons in Jackson Hole, WY from Oct - Nov 2021
A tabular dataset providing tick survey results around the Jackson Wyoming area between the dates of Oct 25, 2021, and Nov 6, 2021. The data compares a dog surveyor to a human surveyor in both transect and survey plots, recording detection events, total number of tick larvae found, and how long the survey took, and the cost of the survey. A second tabular dataset outlining the associated...
Zircon U-Pb data for Paleoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks of the Gunnison block, central Colorado, USA Zircon U-Pb data for Paleoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks of the Gunnison block, central Colorado, USA
This data release includes raw detrital zircon U-Pb data for Paleoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks of the Gunnison block, central Colorado, USA. Detrital zircon U-Pb data for five samples of metasedimentary rock (totaling 1459 zircon U-Pb dates) were acquired via laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) at the University of Arizona LaserChron Center. The...
Water normalized geochemistry data for marine ferromanganese crusts and phosphorite minerals in the Southern California Borderland Water normalized geochemistry data for marine ferromanganese crusts and phosphorite minerals in the Southern California Borderland
Ferromanganese crust and phosphorite minerals were collected using remotely operated vehicles in the Southern California Borderland during two separate research cruises – NOAA Ocean Exploration Trust cruise NA124 onboard the E/V Nautilus in 2020, and Schmidt Ocean Institute cruise FK210726 onboard the R/V Falkor in 2021. Ferromanganese crust and phosphorite samples were described and...
Sediment and dissolved oxygen data to support fine sediment intrusion in Chinook salmon spawning gravels, Sauk River, Washington Sediment and dissolved oxygen data to support fine sediment intrusion in Chinook salmon spawning gravels, Sauk River, Washington
This Data Release contains supporting data to evaluate fine sediment infiltration into gravels in identified locations of Chinook spawning habitat at three sites on the Sauk River, located in western Washington. Fine sediment infiltration into the river substrate that salmonid fish species use to spawn has been shown to increase mortality during the incubation and pre-emergence phase...
Waterfowl Brood Drone Surveys from Suisun, California 2019 Waterfowl Brood Drone Surveys from Suisun, California 2019
Effective waterfowl management relies on the collection of relevant demographic data to inform land management decisions; however, some types of data are difficult to obtain. For waterfowl, brood surveys are difficult to conduct because wetland habitats often obscure ducklings from being visually assessed. Here, we used Unoccupied Aerial Systems (UAS) to assess what wetland habitat...
