Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Infection prevalence and viral load in pacific herring exposed to erythrocytic necrosis virus (ENV) at 3 temperatures Infection prevalence and viral load in pacific herring exposed to erythrocytic necrosis virus (ENV) at 3 temperatures
Viral erythrocytic necrosis (VEN) is a disease of marine and anadromous fishes, which is poorly understood, largely because its causative iridovirus, erythrocytic necrosis virus (ENV), is intractable to cell culture. Natural VEN epizootics and observations studies in wild populations suggest that temperature may be an important disease cofactor. Here, a controlled laboratory exposure...
Alternative complement pathway assay data for adult largemouth bass exposed in outdoor ponds to 17alpha-ethinylestradiol or an estrone-atrazine mixture Alternative complement pathway assay data for adult largemouth bass exposed in outdoor ponds to 17alpha-ethinylestradiol or an estrone-atrazine mixture
Alternative complement pathway assay data observed in adult largemouth bass plasma in response to an EE2 (17alpha-ethinylestradiol) or mixture of estrone and atrazine exposure under laboratory pond conditions, with associated fish identification information.
Groundwater-withdrawal and well-construction data in the Upper Colorado River Basin from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming state databases, 1980–2022 Groundwater-withdrawal and well-construction data in the Upper Colorado River Basin from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming state databases, 1980–2022
The U.S. Geological Survey developed a coupled groundwater and surface-water flow (GSFLOW) model to represent the aquifers of the Colorado Plateau and Upper Colorado River Basin. The study area covers approximately 142,000 square miles and includes parts of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. To support this modeling effort, groundwater well withdrawal volume data were...
The US Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat) Application and CreelCatch R Package The US Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat) Application and CreelCatch R Package
The US Inland Creel and Angler Survey Catalog (CreelCat) application contains a web viewer which allows users to interact with the data included in the CreelCat data release. This includes the ability to view and download the data, explore data availability, develop custom summarizations, and create visualizations including maps and plots. In addition to the web application, a custom R...
Fish Tissue Analysis Results, Koocanusa Reservoir, Montana, 2021 Fish Tissue Analysis Results, Koocanusa Reservoir, Montana, 2021
Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (MT FWP), in collaboration with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY-MT WSC), Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) collected fish from the Koocanusa Reservoir in 2021 for tissue analysis. Fish tissue collected included muscle, eggs...
Diet Estimates of Southern Beaufort Sea Polar Bears, 2004-2016 Diet Estimates of Southern Beaufort Sea Polar Bears, 2004-2016
These were data collected from polar bears from the southern Beaufort Sea during the spring between 2004 and 2016. Data include individual bear identification, age and sex class, capture date, capture year, open water season lengths, melt season length, and diet composition (expressed as a percentage of prey species). These data were used to determine whether polar bear diets have...
Geochemical and mineralogic investigation of elevated arsenic and trace element concentrations in glauconitic soils and sediments of the New Jersey Inner Coastal Plain Geochemical and mineralogic investigation of elevated arsenic and trace element concentrations in glauconitic soils and sediments of the New Jersey Inner Coastal Plain
The U.S. Geological Survey New Jersey Water Science Center (USGS NJWSC) in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has assembled this data release in support of ongoing USGS and NJDEP evaluations related to the occurrence and distribution of elevated trace elements, particularly arsenic (As) and vanadium (V), in Inner Coastal Plain soils and...
Data in support of peak streamflows and flooding in select areas of Pennsylvania from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, September 1-2, 2021 Data in support of peak streamflows and flooding in select areas of Pennsylvania from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, September 1-2, 2021
Heavy rainfall occurred across Pennsylvania on September 1 and 2, 2021, as a result of the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Much of eastern and southcentral Pennsylvania received five to ten inches of rain and most of the rainfall occurred in a little more than six hours. Widespread substantial flooding occurred in the area, particularly impacted was the city of Philadelphia and surrounding...
Software for the program code AFCE (Aqueous-Flow-Concentration-Estimator) for estimation of ambient groundwater flow in bedrock open boreholes using concentrations of chlorinated volatile organic compounds from coupled straddle packer and passive sampling Software for the program code AFCE (Aqueous-Flow-Concentration-Estimator) for estimation of ambient groundwater flow in bedrock open boreholes using concentrations of chlorinated volatile organic compounds from coupled straddle packer and passive sampling
Software program code for the AFCE (Aqueous Flow Concentration Estimator) that is used to estimate inflow of groundwater contaminants to a water column of an open borehole in a fractured-rock aquifer. It is particularly useful program for assessing ambient flow in low permeability open boreholes, which have no detectable flow as measured with conventional borehole flowmeter tools. The...
