Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Phosphorus, nitrogen, carbon, calcium, pH, and dissolved oxygen data from incubations of Colorado River water and sediment and associated ambient river water measurements Phosphorus, nitrogen, carbon, calcium, pH, and dissolved oxygen data from incubations of Colorado River water and sediment and associated ambient river water measurements

Lake Powell retains most of the phosphorus that it receives, leading to downstream phosphorus limitation. These data were compiled to examine controls on phosphorus cycling below Lake Powell in the Colorado River and from storm inputs from the Paria River. Objectives of our study were to determine how several forms of phosphorus, both organic and inorganic, were cycled under varying...

Streamflow projections for southwestern United States (1975-2099) Streamflow projections for southwestern United States (1975-2099)

We projected future streamflow outcomes arising from climate change for the southwestern United States during the 21st century due to climate change under two possible greenhouse gas concentration pathways (RCP4.5 and 8.5). The results inform water managers about the future risks of drought in their water resource regions by providing bounds on the possible locations and extents of...

Adaptive Topobathymetric Fusion Software Version 1.0 Adaptive Topobathymetric Fusion Software Version 1.0

Software release for a topobathymetric DEM fusion approach. The operation, theory, and processes used in this software release can be used to fuse two topobathymetric digital elevation models (DEMs), creating seamless transitions around the two datasets' seamlines. This software heavily utilizes the arcpy python module, installation of ArcGIS Pro and a valid spatial analyst license is...

Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models: Agricultural and Municipal Water Supply and Groundwater Data (ver. 2.1, August 2024) Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models: Agricultural and Municipal Water Supply and Groundwater Data (ver. 2.1, August 2024)

This digital dataset contains the datasets related to agricultural and municipal water supply and groundwater in the Lower Salinas Valley Hydrologic Models (LSVHM), including the Salinas Valley Operational Model (SVOM) and the Salinas Valley Integrated Hydrologic Model (SVIHM). Groundwater inflow and outflow data include reported groundwater pumpage and groundwater elevations obtained...

Paranannizziopsis spp. associated with skin lesions in wild snakes in North America and development of a real-time PCR assay for rapid detection of the fungus in clinical samples Paranannizziopsis spp. associated with skin lesions in wild snakes in North America and development of a real-time PCR assay for rapid detection of the fungus in clinical samples

The emergence of ophidiomycosis (or snake fungal disease) in snakes has prompted increased awareness of the potential impacts of fungal infections on wild reptile populations. Yet, aside from Ophidiomyces ophidiicola, little is known about other mycoses affecting wild reptiles. The closely related genus Paranannizziopsis has been associated with dermatomycosis in snakes and tuataras in...

Egg Mass Counts from Foothill Yellow-Legged Frogs (Rana boylii) in California from 1992-2021 Egg Mass Counts from Foothill Yellow-Legged Frogs (Rana boylii) in California from 1992-2021

We compiled time series of egg mass counts (an index of adult female abundance) from Rana boylii populations in 36 focal streams and fit a Multiple Population Viability Analysis (MPVA) model to quantify how streamflow metrics, stream temperature, and surrounding land cover affect population growth. In addition, data on streamflow, stream temperature, and surrounding land cover for each...

Seasonal movements of mule deer and pronghorn in Wyoming, 2014-2021 Seasonal movements of mule deer and pronghorn in Wyoming, 2014-2021

USGS scientists evaluated the utility of hidden Markov movement models to characterize seasonal movements of mule deer (Odecoileus hemionus) and pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) that were tracked with GPS collars in Wyoming, USA, during 2014-2021. Data include step lengths and turning angles for individual animals at daily time-steps throughout the tracking period. Models demonstrated...

Example application of MetaIPM to the Illinois River Example application of MetaIPM to the Illinois River

This repository contains an example application of the `Meta-IPM` Python package (https://doi.org/10.5066/P9PW673G). The specific application focuses on the Illinois River using existing public data.

Indiana mussel metabolomics data analysis Indiana mussel metabolomics data analysis

This repository contains code to cluster a sample of Mussels based up their metabolic levels via Non-Metric Multidimensional Scaling (NMDS) and distance based-Redundancy Analysis (db-RDA). Mussel sample is broken down and examined by catch location, sex, and species. The code for this project assumes the reader is familiar with R and clustering techniques.

Characterization of occurrence and abundance of targeted metabolites in unionid mussels from three streams Characterization of occurrence and abundance of targeted metabolites in unionid mussels from three streams

The data consists of targeted metabolite analysis (using quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectroscopy;UHPLC-QTOF-MS) of hemolymph from two freshwater mussel species (Lampsilis cardium and L. siliquoidea) from three streams in Indiana. Concentrations of metabolites were modeled by species, stream and sex to determine the influence of each parameter.

Digital elevation model and single beam sonar data from the McKenzie River, Oregon, 2021 Digital elevation model and single beam sonar data from the McKenzie River, Oregon, 2021

In 2021, the USGS 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) funded the collection of topo-bathymetric lidar (sometimes referred to as "green lidar") on the McKenzie River, Oregon. As part of this acquisition, lidar data were collected starting on the McKenzie River below Trail Bridge Reservoir and extending downstream roughly 125 km to its confluence with the Willamette River. Bathymetric lidar...

Geochemical and fallout radionuclide data for sediment source fingerprinting studies of the Loutsenhizer Arroyo and Sunflower Drain watersheds in western Colorado Geochemical and fallout radionuclide data for sediment source fingerprinting studies of the Loutsenhizer Arroyo and Sunflower Drain watersheds in western Colorado

This data release includes geochemical and fallout radionuclide data for suspended sediments and potential sediment source types for the Loutsenhizer Arroyo and Sunflower Drain watersheds in western Colorado. Suspended sediments were collected by passive samplers deployed in the stream channel of the watershed outlets during four study periods between August 2018 and August 2019...
