Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Experimental manipulation of bait types to assess trapping efficacy of invasive black and white tegu lizards (Salvator merianae) in South Florida Experimental manipulation of bait types to assess trapping efficacy of invasive black and white tegu lizards (Salvator merianae) in South Florida
These data represent two years of trapping effort for invasive black and white tegu lizards (Salvator merianae) in South Florida. Over the course of the two years, traps were deployed in the same locations, but the type of bait in the trap varied. Bait treatment types consisted of a single real chicken egg (traditionally used in the past), 3 real eggs, 3 fake wooden eggs, 2 fake wooden...
Bathymetry of Honest John Lake, Bad River Slough, the Lower Bad River, and the Kakagon River (April 30 to May 1, 2025) Bathymetry of Honest John Lake, Bad River Slough, the Lower Bad River, and the Kakagon River (April 30 to May 1, 2025)
The U.S. Geological Survey Upper Midwest Water Science Center, in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes Oil Spill Center of Expertise and the Mashkiiziibii Natural Resources Department, completed bathymetric surveys of the lower Bad River, Kakagon River, Honest John Lake, and the Bad River Slough using multibeam and single beam echosounders from April 29 to May 1, 2025. This...
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveys in the San Francisco Volcanic Field (SFVF) in northern Arizona, USA from 2016 and 2023 Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveys in the San Francisco Volcanic Field (SFVF) in northern Arizona, USA from 2016 and 2023
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys were conducted within the San Francisco Volcanic Field (SFVF) in Northern Arizona from October 8th-15th in 2016 and August 4th-8th in 2023. These surveys collected GPR data using variable antenna frequencies and survey styles in varied geologic terrains. The main focus of this data collection was on volcanic terrains in the SFVF, including lava...
Salmonid eye lens stable isotope values from Maine lakes, collected 2023-2025 Salmonid eye lens stable isotope values from Maine lakes, collected 2023-2025
Ontogenetic niche shifts are almost universal in fishes and many other organisms and are thus often important to factor in conservation planning. However, some aspects of ontogeny, such as trophic shifts, remain poorly understood in many fishes. Eye lens stable isotope analysis has proven a powerful tool in understanding the ontogeny of some marine species, but few studies have applied...
Performance of low-salinity genomically selected eastern oysters at two Louisiana grow-out sites Performance of low-salinity genomically selected eastern oysters at two Louisiana grow-out sites
Eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica) produced in a hatchery were maintained in cages at multiple sites in coastal Louisiana, and shell height, mortality, fecundity, and dermo were monitored to compare performance between genomically selected groups. Oysters were produced using genomic selection techniques targeting low-salinity tolerant oysters (high breeding value). To test...
Model Archive Summary for Turbidity Derived Suspended-Sediment Concentrations at 11313315, Old River Near Byron, California (2020-until superseded) Model Archive Summary for Turbidity Derived Suspended-Sediment Concentrations at 11313315, Old River Near Byron, California (2020-until superseded)
This Model Archive Summary (MAS) describes the development of a turbidity derived suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) time-series computation model. The MAS includes all the methods and techniques used to develop the model for USGS station 11313315 Old River Near Byron, California. The time-series suspended-sediment concentration data are representative of the cross section and are...

This U.S. Geological Survey data release presents monthly evaporation estimates from Lake Mead, Nevada and Arizona, for January 2021 through December 2023. The spreadsheet includes five worksheets: (1) Read_Me worksheet contains information relevant to understanding the data contained in the rest of the worksheets. (2) Monthly_EC_Met worksheet includes data measured at a land-based...
2021 Illinois Waterway Aerial Imagery Mosaics 2021 Illinois Waterway Aerial Imagery Mosaics
The Corps of Engineers' Rock Island District is planning an unprecedented closure of the Illinois Waterway in 2020 in order to perform required maintenance on locks. Aerial imagery will document river conditions prior to the closure (2019) and after the locks are reopened (2021). Under a separate but related effort, aerial imagery of the entire Illinois Waterway will be collected in 2020...
Cole's Bayou Marsh Restoration (TV-63) Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act 2024 land-water classification Cole's Bayou Marsh Restoration (TV-63) Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act 2024 land-water classification
The Louisiana State Legislature established the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. Restoration plans developed under CWPPRA require evaluating the effectiveness of each project in achieving long-term solutions to coastal wetlands loss. This data set includes mosaicked aerial photographs...
Pass Chaland to Grand Bayou Pass Barrier Shoreline Restoration (BA-35) Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act 2021 detailed habitat classification Pass Chaland to Grand Bayou Pass Barrier Shoreline Restoration (BA-35) Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act 2021 detailed habitat classification
The Barrier Island Comprehensive Monitoring (BICM) program was developed by Louisiana’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) and is implemented as a component of the System Wide Assessment and Monitoring Program (SWAMP). The program uses both historical data and contemporary data collections to assess and monitor changes in the aerial and subaqueous extent of islands...
