Real-time Data

Our scientists gather information through periodic or continuous measurement in the field to provide a view of current conditions. In some instances, observations may not be subject to rigorous review before release; this will be noted in the documentation accompanying the data.

Surface-water data for New York

Real-time, daily, peak-flow, field measurements, and statistics of current and historical data that describe stream levels, streamflow (discharge), reservoir and lake levels, surface-water quality, and rainfall in New York. Surface-water data are collected and stored as either discrete field-water-level measurements or as continuous time-series data from automated recorders.

Groundwater Data for New York

Data from wells, springs, test holes, tunnels, drains, and excavations in New York; well location data includes information such as latitude and longitude, well depth, and aquifer. Groundwater level data are collected and stored as either discrete field-water-level measurements or as continuous time-series data from automated recorders.

Water-quality data for New York

Chemical, physical, and biological properties of water, sediment, and tissue samples from New York. Water-quality data are collected as either discrete field measurements or as continuous time-series data from automated recorders.

Water use data for New York

Water-use data are collected by area type (state, county, watershed, or aquifer) and source (rivers or groundwater), and category (such as public supply or irrigation). Water-use data has been reported every five years since 1950. The USGS works with local, State, and Federal agencies as well as other organizations to collect and report withdrawals.

Idaho WaterWatch

Map of real-time streamflow for Idaho compared to historical streamflow for the day of the year

Idaho Real-Time Groundwater Level Network

The Real Time Groundwater Level Network contains water levels and well information from wells with "real time" data transmission instrumentation.

Idaho WaterQualityWatch

Map of real-time water temperature and other water-quality conditions for selected sites in Idaho

Idaho Active Water Level Network

The Active Groundwater Level Network contains water levels and well information for wells that have been measured by the USGS or USGS cooperators at least once within the past 13 months.

Idaho Climate Response Network

The USGS maintains a network of wells to monitor the effects of droughts and other climate variability on groundwater levels.

New Jersey Weather Monitoring Network

The NJTTS supplies real-time meteorological data for 120 days for flood-prone areas along the New Jersey shore and back bays to critical decision-making centers and the publically-available world wide web.

New Jersey Tide Telemetry System

The NJTTS supplies real-time tide-level data for flood-prone areas along the New Jersey shore and back bays to critical decision-making centers and the publically-available world wide web.
