The USGS has received funding from the Infrastructure Investment Jobs Act to address critical minerals, energy and supply chain issues. This funding is divided into three primary categories: the Earth Mapping Resource Initiative (Earth MRI), National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP), and a new research and teaching facility for USGS staff in Colorado.
