Casey J Lee

Casey Lee is the Director of the USGS Central Plains Water Science Center, which serves stakeholders across Kansas and Nebraska.

Casey began a career with the USGS in 2000 as a hydrologic technician at the Kansas Water Science Center. From 2000 to 2012, Casey worked on a wide range of surface water-quality and sediment-related projects throughout Kansas. In 2012, Casey transitioned to a national role as an analyst—and later coordinator—for the USGS Water Mission Area’s National Water Quality Network. 

In 2022, Casey returned to Kansas to serve as Director of the Kansas Water Science Center. Following the merger of the Kansas and Nebraska Water Science Centers in 2025, Casey assumed the role of Director of the newly formed Central Plains Water Science Center.
