Joan Gomberg

Joan Gomberg is a research geophysicist, specializing in earthquake seismology for the Earthquake Hazard Program in the Pacific Northwest (PNW). Her research focuses on how earthquakes initiate and affect one another, the different ways in which faults slip, and earthquake-triggered phenomena in submarine and other environments. Joan has been engaged in efforts to enhance subduction zone science.

Research Interests
Earthquake hazard assessment, earthquake interactions, source scaling, coupled aseismic and seismic deformation, seismicity evolution, earthquake scaling,  offshore geodesy, and submarine landslides and gravity flows.
