Melissa Price
Melissa Price is a Fish Biologist with WARC.
Melissa is a fish biologist experienced in multidisciplinary ecological research focused on Federally protected and economically important aquatic species across freshwater, estuarine, nearshore, pelagic, and mesophotic reef ecosystems. She has dedicated most of her career to studying the Federally threatened Gulf sturgeon in the pursuit of population recovery. Her research involves acoustic and satellite telemetry, spatial ecology, movement modeling, scientific programming, geospatial analysis, and research database development. She collaborates with Federal, State, academic, and non-governmental partners to address conservation and fisheries management challenges, translating complex ecological data into science-based management decisions through peer-reviewed publications, Federal data releases, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
