CRSSP Imagery-Derived Requirements (CIDR) Tool was designed to assist U.S. Federal Civil agencies to enter near-term land remote sensing data requirements. CIDR links to EarthExplorer (EE) allowing users to preview and download data for their requirements and provides an interface to place new Data Acquisition Requests (DARs).

EROS Registration System (ERS)
| Help Page | Description |
|---|---|
| EROS Registration System (ERS) | The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Registration System (ERS) centralizes all existing user profiles and authentication for USGS EROS Web services into a single independent application. A Register for an Account video provides step-by-step directions for creating an EROS Registration System (ERS) account. |
| ERS Password Expiration Information | The ERS system requires a login with a username and password. The password may have an expiration date assigned. The documentation will explain the process and how a user can reset their expiration date. |
| To enter a Data Acquisition Request (DAR) users must be affiliated with a U.S. Federal Civil Agency. Access can be requested via the ERS account or by filling out a specific form. |
Register for an ERS Account
Visit the ERS site to create a new account. ERS consolidates user profiles and authentication for all USGS EROS user interfaces into a single independent application. Existing login credentials from EarthExplorer, Global Visualization Viewer (GloVis), Hazards Data Distribution System (HDDS) Explorer, Emergency Operations Collection Management Tool (CMT), or CRSSP Imagery Derived Requirements (CIDR) may be used to access any of the EROS user interfaces.
Please contact EROS Customer Services at 605-594-6151 or custserv@usgs.gov Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Central Time with any questions regarding the registration process.

| Document provides an overview of the CIDR entry map interface. The interface provides access to public DARs, coverage areas, and filter capability in searching. |
| CIDR Request Data - Request Details Section | Provide detailed information associated with a data request. The information includes the project name, description of the project, explanation of how data will be used, and if the data be shared. The section provides free text fields to enter known scenes desired and/or as much detail to facilitate the tasking of data. This section allows for new users, in Additional information, to convey when unsure of what type of imagery is needed for their project. |
CIDR Request Data - Imaging Requirements Section
| This menu-based section facilitates filling in the preferred imagery requirements to meet the project’s needs. The menus include the Type of Sensor (Electro-optical or SAR), Type of Imagery, Acquisition Start/End, and how often to collect. Depending on the sensor option chosen, the next item options will help guide the selection process.
|
CIDR Request Data - Spatial Requirements
| The spatial section allows users to define the area of interest (AOI) by using a variety of available tools. The tools to help define the AOI include entering in specific coordinates (point, box, polygon, circle) or importing a KML/shapefile. Depending on the sensor be aware of requesting too large of an area. |
CIDR Request Data - Submit Request
| The Submit Request button enters the information and requirements into the system. The process flow of pushing the request through the next steps begins. Depending on what is being tasked and where in the process, there are options available to the user. Such as copying, exporting, and emailing the Data Acquisition Request (DAR). The DAR status can be monitored as well. |
| CIDR Data Acquisition Request Summary | After the Request Data information has been submitted, the Data Acquisition Request (DAR) summary page will display. The summary displays the some action items, general information, and entries from the Request Data page. |
