Data

Hydrologic data collection, processing, analysis, dissemination, and archiving are major parts of the MD-DE-DC Water Science Center program. Much of the data are available on a near-real-time basis by satellite telemetry.

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols.

National Hydrologic Model v1.0 water budget components aggregated to 10 and 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Code boundaries National Hydrologic Model v1.0 water budget components aggregated to 10 and 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Code boundaries

This data release contains the output of the National Hydrologic Hydrologic Model (NHM) version 1.0 aggregated to twelve-digit and ten-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) boundaries contained in the NHDPlus v2.1 dataset. The data are intended to provide "local" water budgets for each HUC boundary as total aggregated streamflow across HUC boundaries is not included. The HUC boundaries are...

Terrestrial LiDAR Point Clouds and Channel Morphology Assessments along Midway Branch in Fort Meade, Maryland, for 2020-2022 Terrestrial LiDAR Point Clouds and Channel Morphology Assessments along Midway Branch in Fort Meade, Maryland, for 2020-2022

This metadata record documents six LiDAR point clouds, six point cloud generation reports, and three comma-delimited tables that contain information on local channel morphology and topography for a select number of reaches along Midway Branch and its associated tributaries within the confines of Fort George G. Meade, Fort Meade, Maryland. Point cloud generation reports include diagnostic

Ecological, Geomorphological, Sedimentological, and Geochemical Records of Pre- and Post-Colonial Riparian Ecosystems in Anne Arundel County, Maryland Ecological, Geomorphological, Sedimentological, and Geochemical Records of Pre- and Post-Colonial Riparian Ecosystems in Anne Arundel County, Maryland

This data release includes data collected in the pursuit of identifying pre- and post-colonial riparian ecosystems found throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. A single raster file is included, and represents a topological classification of the entire county according to a hydrologically conditioned Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Ten shapefiles are also included, nine of which...

Data-Driven Drought Prediction Project Model Inputs for Upper and Lower Colorado Portions of the National Hydrologic Geo-Spatial Fabric version 1.1 and Select U.S. Geological Survey Streamgage Basins (ver. 2.0, July 2025) Data-Driven Drought Prediction Project Model Inputs for Upper and Lower Colorado Portions of the National Hydrologic Geo-Spatial Fabric version 1.1 and Select U.S. Geological Survey Streamgage Basins (ver. 2.0, July 2025)

This metadata record describes a series of data sets of natural, climatic, and anthropogenic landscape features processed as model inputs for the Data-Driven Drought Prediction Project of the Water Resources Mission Area Drought Program. These data are linked to two different spatial units: the National Hydrologic Geospatial Fabric version 1.1 (nhgfv1.1) including their associated...

30 Year (1990 - 2019) Annual Average Difference between Precipitation Potential Evapotranspiration 30 Year (1990 - 2019) Annual Average Difference between Precipitation Potential Evapotranspiration

This metadata record describes the 30 year (1990-2019) annual average difference between precipitation potential evapotranspiration in millimeters in geotiff format. The source data is based on the ClimGrid netcdf data for precipitation and temperature (Wieczorek and others, 2022). Units are millimeters.

Compilation of multi-agency specific conductance observations for streams within the Chesapeake Bay watershed Compilation of multi-agency specific conductance observations for streams within the Chesapeake Bay watershed

Freshwater salinization is an emerging issue for freshwater environments in the Chesapeake Bay, USA region. Salinization is often described by measurements of specific conductance (SC). This data release contains specific conductance observations collected by multiple regional agencies for streams within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. This inventory compiles and harmonizes data from the...

SPARROW Model Inputs and Estimated Effects of Agricultural Conservation Practices on Total Nitrogen in Streams of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed SPARROW Model Inputs and Estimated Effects of Agricultural Conservation Practices on Total Nitrogen in Streams of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

This data release contains input and output data tables from a SPAtially Referenced Regression On Watershed attributes (SPARROW) model, which estimated total nitrogen loads in streams of the Chesapeake Bay watershed under varying better management practice implementation scenarios. Further documentation about the SPARROW modeling framework can be found here: https://pubs.er.usgs.gov...

Soil-Water-Balance (SWB) model archive used to simulate water budget components in Pennsylvania and Maryland, 2000-2020 Soil-Water-Balance (SWB) model archive used to simulate water budget components in Pennsylvania and Maryland, 2000-2020

This model archive documents the Soil-Water-Balance (SWB) model used to simulate potential recharge for portions of Pennsylvania and Maryland from 2000 to 2021. The Pennsylvania and Maryland SWB model was used to create output at a 250 meter grid scale. Model parameters were adjusted using baseflow estimates from 36 reference watersheds varying in area from 0.37 to 817 square miles. The
