Environmental DNA metabarcoding results of fish prey DNA in common loon (Gavia immer) fecal and cloacal swab samples from the Whitefish Chain of Lakes, Crow Wing County, Minnesota

The dataset contains sequencing read counts of fish prey eDNA metabarcoding (using primers targeting the 16S rRNA mitochondrial gene) that were extracted from fecal and cloacal swab samples collected from common loons (Gavia immer) captured on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes, Crow Wing County, Minnesota during 2015-2106. Sample type (cloacal or fecal); loon identification, age, and sex; capture date

Data Release for Multimodal Invasive Carp Deterrent Study at Barkley Lock and Dam: Status Update through 2022

The BioAcoustic Fish Fence (BAFF; Fish Guidance Systems Ltd.) is a multi-modal deterrent that utilizes a combination of lights, sound, and bubbles to guide fish away from a location. An experimental deployment of a BAFF is currently ongoing at Barkley Lock and Dam on the Cumberland River near Grand Rivers, KY. This dataset includes information derived from two telemetry arrays (i.e., VEMCO and HTI

Amphibian encounter data and associated covariate data from the Midwest Region of Amphibian Research and Monitoring Initiative (ARMI) surveys 2002-2012

This data set contains information on detections of anuran (i.e., frogs and toads) species at six different management areas in the midwestern United States from 2002 to 2012. From 2002 to 2005 anuran communities were surveyed during the day using multiple methods at individual study wetlands—visual encounter surveys, dip net surveys, and calling surveys using multiple observers in most cases. Dat

Acoustic Telemetry Evaluation of Invasive Red Swamp Crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) Behavior in Southern Michigan (Summer 2021)

This study deployed acoustic telemetry into a red swamp crayfish-infested water retention pond (1.0 ac) near Novi, Michigan to document the movements and behavior of telemetered red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii). Telemetry was setup in the pond for approximately 3 months. Spreadsheets include telemetry data with position estimates for individual crayfish.

Multi-omics responses in tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) nestlings from the Maumee Area of Concern, Maumee River, Ohio

Data used in the Maumee River omics publication, Multi-omics responses in tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) nestlings from the Maumee Area of Concern, Maumee River, Ohio. Tseng et al. 2023 Sci. Total Environ. 856:159130

Data Release for Lock 19 Underwater Acoustic Deterrent System (UADS) Study: Interim Project Update

The Underwater Acoustic Deterrent System is an experimental deterrent that utilizes underwater sounds to deter invasive carps. An experimental deployment and evaluation of a UADS is currently being conducted at Lock 19 on the Mississippi River, near Keokuk, Iowa. This dataset includes information derived from two telemetry arrays (i.e., 307 kHz HTI and 69 kHz VEMCO) deployed at and around Lock 19

Data to quantify ecosystem states and state transitions of the Upper Mississippi River using topological data analysis

The dataset and analysis scripts accompanies the scientific article, "Quantifying ecosystem states and state transitions of the Upper Mississippi River using topological data analysis." We coupled this highly dimensional dataset with multiple topological data analysis (TDA) techniques to classify ecosystem states, identify state variables, and detect state transitions over 30 years.

Data Release for Laboratory and field comparisons of TFM bar formulations used to treat small streams for larval sea lamprey

The dataset was generated to verify the suitability of the new TFM bar formulation for wide-scale use in the Sea Lamprey Control Program (SLCP). Dataset includes TFM concentrations of three streams (each used twice) where randomized experimental applications of new and old TFM bar formulation dissolution trials were conducted, TFM concentrations of 12 laboratory flume experimental applications of

Toxicity Testing Review, Derived from published literature and reports

The dataset is derived from a search of published books, papers, and reports on toxicity studies with Dreissena spp. mussels. Specific information was extracted from each paper on the study design, collection, handling, test methods, and reporting parameters.

Acoustic Telemetry Evaluation of Invasive Carp in Kaukauna, Wisconsin (Summer 2019)

This study deployed acoustic telemetry at the Fox River Navigational System Authority (FRNSA) in lock #2 and the upstream and downstream pools in Kaukauna, WI to document movements and behavior of telemetered fish species in response to injection of carbon dioxide. Telemetry equipment was setup in the test area for approximately 2 months during the summer of 2019. CSV metadata includes telemetry d

Characterization of occurrence and abundance of targeted metabolites in unionid mussels from three streams

The data consists of targeted metabolite analysis (using quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectroscopy;UHPLC-QTOF-MS) of hemolymph from two freshwater mussel species (Lampsilis cardium and L. siliquoidea) from three streams in Indiana. Concentrations of metabolites were modeled by species, stream and sex to determine the influence of each parameter.

BioLake bioclimatic variables based on ERA5-Land lake temperature estimates 1991-2020

These BioLake raster data provide global estimates (~10.0 x 12.4 km resolution) of twelve bioclimatic variables based on estimated lake temperature. Eleven of these twelve variables (BioLake01 - BioLake11) are estimated for each of three lake strata: lake mix (surface) layer, lake bottom, and total lake water column. These eleven variables correspond to CHELSA (Climatologies at high resolution for
