Modified multi-node well (MNW2) files used to simulate potential future (2016-2050) water-table elevation change near Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico
July 10, 2023
Data release to accompany the SIR: Potential effects of projected pumping scenarios on future water-table elevations near Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico (https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20235075). Data release includes the modified MNW2 files for the local-scale and regional model of the MODFLOW LGR-2 version of the updated Middle Rio Grande Regional model, published here: https://water.usgs.gov/GIS/metadata/usgswrd/XML/sir2019-5052.xml. The pumping scenarios used to modify the MNW2 files are based on proposed pumping scenarios published by the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA, 2016).

Potential effects of projected pumping scenarios on future water-table elevations near Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico
The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, simulated different groundwater pumping scenarios from 2016 to 2050 to determine the potential future changes in groundwater levels in areas around the Kirtland Air Force Base Bulk Fuels Facility and an ethylene dibromide (EDB) plume. Projections of water supply and demand created by the Albuquerque...
