September 19, 2013 - Landsat 8 in Safehold

On September 19, 2013 at 15:38 CDT, Landsat 8 entered a ‘safehold’ condition that has suspended the collection of science data.

The Landsat 8 observatory is healthy, and no issues are expected during the recovery process being executed, which will return the satellite to nominal operations. Full recovery is expected in the next few days. More information will be posted as recovery progresses.
