Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

QRev QRev
The software program, QRev, written in Python, computes the discharge from moving-boat ADCP measurements using data collected with any of the Teledyne RD Instrument (TRDI) or SonTek bottom tracking ADCPs. The computation of discharge is independent of the manufacturer of the ADCP because QRev applies consistent algorithms independent of the data source. In addition, QRev automates...
Estimated low-flow statistics at ungaged stream locations in New Jersey, water year 2019 Estimated low-flow statistics at ungaged stream locations in New Jersey, water year 2019
Estimates of various low-flow statistics were computed at 53 ungaged stream locations throughout New Jersey during the 2019 water year using methods in the published reports, 1) Streamflow characteristics and trends in New Jersey, water years 1897-2003 (Watson and others, 2005) and 2) Implementation of MOVE.1, censored MOVE.1, and piecewise MOVE.1 low-flow regressions with applications...
Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, southeastern Illinois, western Kentucky, and southern Indiana, 2019 Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, southeastern Illinois, western Kentucky, and southern Indiana, 2019
Note: this data release has been superseded by version 2.0, available here: https://doi.org/10.5066/P14PJFWS. This publication provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution magnetic and radiometric survey over an area of southeast Illinois, western Kentucky, and southern Indiana. The survey includes airborne geophysical data collected as part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS...
Vegetation type conversion in chaparral in San Diego County, California, USA between 1953 and 2016 Vegetation type conversion in chaparral in San Diego County, California, USA between 1953 and 2016
This dataset contains data pertaining to ground surface cover in a 30 meter radius around a random selection of points within San Diego County, California. These data were obtained from aerial imagery for the years 1953 and 2016 and were used to assess changes in cover type over time. These data support the following publication: Syphard, A.D., Brennan, T.J. and Keeley, J.E., 2019...
Least Bell's Vireo Habitat Suitability Model for California (2019) Least Bell's Vireo Habitat Suitability Model for California (2019)
This habitat model was developed to identify suitable habitat for the federally-endangered least Bell's vireo (Vireo bellii pusillus) across its current and historic range in California. The vireo disappeared from most of its range by the 1980s, remaining only in small populations in southern California. Habitat protection and management since the mid-1980s has led to an increase in...
Nest data for white-faced Ibis in Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Great Salt Lake, Utah in summer 2012 Nest data for white-faced Ibis in Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Great Salt Lake, Utah in summer 2012
Nest monitoring data of white-faced ibis. Data were collected at seven day intervals and provide information on success and failure of the nest during that interval. Summary vegetation and habitat data were also collected at the nest. These data support the following publication: Mark P. Herzog, Ackerman, Joshua T., Hartman, C. Alex, and Browers, Howard, 2020, Nesting ecology of White...
Geomorphic and larval lamprey surveys in tributaries of the Umpqua River, Oregon Geomorphic and larval lamprey surveys in tributaries of the Umpqua River, Oregon
Interactions between geomorphic processes at multiple scales shape the distributions of habitats, species, and life stages that a river can support. Understanding these hierarchical processes may be helpful for proactive monitoring and restoration of native Western Brook Lamprey (Lampetra richardsoni) and Pacific Lamprey (Entosphenus tridentatus) in Pacific Northwest rivers. The...
Brown Treesnake counts during visual encounter surveys at three walking paces, Guam 2016 Brown Treesnake counts during visual encounter surveys at three walking paces, Guam 2016
We evaluated three walking paces to estimate (1) how snake detection rate per unit distance changes with increasing pace, and (2) how total number of snakes found by the end of a night of surveying varies with pace when the amount of surveying time per night is held constant. For a ?fast? pace we searched the 220 meter-long transect in 10 minutes, corresponding to a walking pace of 1.32...
Continuous Monitoring Data From Great Barnstable Marsh on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, 2017-19 Continuous Monitoring Data From Great Barnstable Marsh on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, 2017-19
Salt marshes are environmental ecosystems that contribute to coastal landscape resiliency to storms and rising sea level. Ninety percent of mid-Atlantic and New England salt marshes have been impacted by parallel grid ditching that began in the 1920s–40s to control mosquito populations and to provide employment opportunities during the Great Depression (James-Pirri and others, 2009...
Effects of Late Holocene Climate and Coastal Change in Mobile Bay, Alabama: ADCIRC Model Input and Results Effects of Late Holocene Climate and Coastal Change in Mobile Bay, Alabama: ADCIRC Model Input and Results
Using the numerical model ADCIRC, astronomic tides were simulated at Mobile Bay, Alabama under scenarios of Holocene geomorphic configurations representing the period of 3500 to 2300 years before present including a breach in the Morgan Peninsula and a land bridge at Pass aux Herons (see Figure 1), as described in Smith and others, 2020. Model inputs in the form of topography and...
Detections and concentrations of compounds of emerging concern at water treatment plants and in the Trinity River Basin, Dallas, Texas, 2009-13 Detections and concentrations of compounds of emerging concern at water treatment plants and in the Trinity River Basin, Dallas, Texas, 2009-13
This data release documents water-quality data obtained as part of an assessment of compounds of emerging concern (CECs) measured in samples collected at potable water and wastewater treatment plants in Dallas and downstream from Dallas in the Trinity River from August 2009 to December 2013 by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the City of Dallas, Dallas Water Utilities...

This dataset documents the depth to groundwater measured in wells screened in the Chicot, Evangeline, and Jasper aquifers in the Houston-Galveston region, Texas for 2019. The U.S. Geological Survey prepared this dataset in cooperation with the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District, City of Houston, Fort Bend Subsidence District, Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District, and Brazoria...
