Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Demographic data from two chorus frog populations in Colorado Demographic data from two chorus frog populations in Colorado
We used 29 years of data on boreal chorus frogs at two sites to view life-history, estimate demographic parameters, assess weather-related covariates, and determine the magnitude of process variation in target parameters. Average estimates of survival probabilities were 0.51 (Standard error [SE]=0.04) and 0.43 (SE=0.04), and average estimates of recruitment probabilities were 0.64 (SE=0...
Data Release for Testing ecosystem accounting in the United States: A case study for the Southeast Data Release for Testing ecosystem accounting in the United States: A case study for the Southeast
Ecosystems benefit people in many ways, but these contributions do not appear in traditional national or corporate accounts so are often left out of policy- and decision-making. Ecosystem accounts, as formalized by the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting Experimental Ecosystem Accounts (SEEA EEA), track the extent and condition of ecosystem assets and the flows of ecosystem...
High-Resolution Aeromagnetic Survey of the Wenatchee Area, Washington High-Resolution Aeromagnetic Survey of the Wenatchee Area, Washington
This data release provides access to a low-altitude, aeromagnetic survey of a part of central Washington, an area that includes the city of Wenatchee and the towns of Entiat, Chelan, and Leavenworth. The Wenatchee aeromagnetic survey extends westward from the Columbia Plateau to the Cascade Range, and covers a part of the Columbia River and Lake Chelan. The survey was conducted between...
High-Resolution Aeromagnetic Survey of the Hanford Area, Washington High-Resolution Aeromagnetic Survey of the Hanford Area, Washington
This data release provides access to a low-altitude, aeromagnetic survey of a part of south-central Washington centered approximately 30 km east of Yakima and referred to as the Hanford aeromagnetic survey. The survey includes the city of Richland, numerous smaller communities, and the Hanford Site (https://www.hanford.gov). The Hanford aeromagnetic survey extends from the Columbia...
Data release for Influence of multi-decadal land use, irrigation practices and climate on riparian corridors across the Upper Missouri River headwaters basin, Montana Data release for Influence of multi-decadal land use, irrigation practices and climate on riparian corridors across the Upper Missouri River headwaters basin, Montana
The Upper Missouri River headwaters (UMH) basin (36 400 km2 ) depends on its river corridors to support irrigated agriculture and world-class trout fisheries. We evaluated trends (1984-2016) in riparian wetness, an indicator of the riparian condition, in peak irrigation months (June, July and August) for 158 km2 of riparian area across the basin using the Landsat normalized difference...
Estimated Annual Recharge to the Edwards Aquifer in the San Antonio Area, by Stream Basin or Ungaged Area, 1934-2019 Estimated Annual Recharge to the Edwards Aquifer in the San Antonio Area, by Stream Basin or Ungaged Area, 1934-2019
The Edwards aquifer in south central Texas is one of the most permeable and productive aquifers in the United States and is the major source of public water supply for Bexar, Comal, Hays, Medina, and Uvalde Counties. The Edwards aquifer also supplies large quantities of water to agriculture, business, and industry in the region. The major artesian springs of the Edwards aquifer provide...
Scaling antibiotic efficacy from cells to metapopulations Scaling antibiotic efficacy from cells to metapopulations
The data are population sizes of yeast Saccharaomyces cerevisiae growth in laboratory cultures over a period of several days with different levels of growth inhibitor cycloheximide and of nutrient levels.
Brown Treesnake visual survey and radiotelemetry data, Guam 2015 Brown Treesnake visual survey and radiotelemetry data, Guam 2015
The dataset consists of two spreadsheets that contain brown treesnake data (location, perch taxa, perch height, time of detection, whether visible or not, and size of snake) collected during both visual surveys and radio telemetry within a 55-ha enclosure on Guam.
Stable isotopic ratios of hydrogen and oxygen in groundwater and calculated fraction of recharge from winter precipitation, South Rim Grand Canyon, Arizona Stable isotopic ratios of hydrogen and oxygen in groundwater and calculated fraction of recharge from winter precipitation, South Rim Grand Canyon, Arizona
Dataset provides inputs and model results of a stable isotope-based mixing model for estimating the relative contribution of seasonal recharge sources to the South Rim groundwater flow system, Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA.
Traits and Factors Catalog (TRAFAC): Conifer specialists of North America Traits and Factors Catalog (TRAFAC): Conifer specialists of North America
These data were compiled in support of the 'Predicting the next high-impact insect invasion: Elucidating traits and factors determining the risk of introduced herbivorous insects on North American native plants' project, supported by the U.S. Geological Survey John Wesley Powell Center for Analysis and Synthesis. The project working group compiled data for non-native insects herbivorous...
Vegetation cover and composition data in environments surrounding uranium mines in the Grand Canyon ecosystem, USA Vegetation cover and composition data in environments surrounding uranium mines in the Grand Canyon ecosystem, USA
This data package contains the final combined field sampling data collected by the USGS July 2013 and July-August 2015 at three active uranium mines (Canyon Rim Mine, Pinenut Mine, and Arizona 1 Mine) as well as two reference sites (Little Robinson Tank and EZ2 Pipe) in northwestern Arizona. Vegetation and soils were assessed by using line-point intersect (LPI) methods and estimates of...
Magnetotelluric data from San Pablo Bay, California Magnetotelluric data from San Pablo Bay, California
This dataset consists of 14 magnetotelluric (MT) stations collected in 2015 near San Pablo Bay, California along a east-northeast profile. The U.S. Geological Survey acquired these data to understand the fault geometry of the Hayward Fault and the Rodgers Creek Fault.
